Millie watched the bird go and rested her head on her paws. She sighed and shuffled her paws a bit restlessly. I finally have someone to talk to, and now I can't think of anything to say.. Millie's tail twitched a few times, feeling a little awkward. Millie thought and thought and finally decided to ask her something. "Uh.. How long will we be stuck in here? I mean, it's nice and all, but I wish I was able to go outside and stretch my paws again.." Millie trailed off and turned around, staring at all the houses outside, hoping that maybe she would live in one of them someday.

"Okay.." Millie nodded slowly. "That makes sense.. Uh.. well, what's your name? I'm Millie, sometimes I'm called Mills for some reason. It's confusing." Millie said, her tail swishing back and forth as she continued to watch the houses intently. "And.. how often do humans come here?" She questioned, feeling a bit like a kitten. Only kittens question everything.. right? Her face heated up and she stared at her paws, blushing. I mean.. I guess it's okay. I'm in a new place, after all.. and this cat seems to know more then I do.. or maybe they're a kitten..? Millie sighed, feeling confused and a bit embarrassed.

"I'm Alaska" She said to her unseen partner. "And the humans? Well, they come here almost every day." She meowed.

"Okay.. thanks. And it's nice to meet you, Alaska. Well, how long have you been here? I haven't been here long.. I guess that explains why I'm asking so many questions." Millie purred in amusement and got up, her ears twitching. She leaped onto the platform and lay in her bed, watching the shelter, or more specifically, watching for humans. "Do we ever get to go out? I mean, I keep seeing other animals get out.. like the bird, and that dog.." She asked curiously, but didn't look away from the outside. We probably don't.. we're not as active as dogs or birds, I suppose.. She thought, but she still tried to be a little hopeful.

"I've been here almost my whole life, I really don't know anything outside of here." The white cat looked at her chest. "And sometimes we get out, but not vary often." Alaska had often wondered what was outside, now she could ask some questions. "Whats it like outside?" She asked without thinking.

"It's.. well.." Millie's tail drooped a little but she kept her voice cheerful. "It's good, as long as you can find food out there." Millie said, her tail swishing slowly. "I liked it, until.." She trailed off, getting a bit lost in thought. It was pretty bad when I couldn't find food anymore.. it.. it just.. Millie let out a small, almost inaudible sigh and tried to perk up. Hey, at least it's over now, right? "It was okay, until I couldn't find any food, or hunt.. I got pretty.. well.. thin.. and.. weak." She shifted around a bit, her tail twitching. "It got cold out.. and then.. there wasn't anything to hunt.. and then that meant there wasn't anything to eat.." She sat back up, licking her paw and drawing it over her ear, trying to distract herself from bad memories. I kind of want to ask her how she got here.. but I wouldn't want to make her uncomfortable. She blinked, her tail swishing. Well... after saying all that and thinking about it.. maybe it would be better to stay here. I don't want to live on the streets again.. but there's gotta be someone that wants a cat like me, right?
