    Dovestep

She smiled as Oakwhisker called a meeting, and wrapped her tail around Owlkit, who was twitching in his sleep. When Ivykit and Littlekit dashed out after Tidesong, she sighed, and looked down at Owlkit, who was stirring. She smiled down at the small brown kit as he looked up at her, and she licked him between the ears "They are outside, dear. Lets go see them" She meowed, and heaved herself to her paws, bumping what was left of the vole towards the small kit. She moved towards the entrance, and exited, waiting for Owlkit outside. She watched Ivykit and Littlekit sitting around Tidesong, and swished her tail, feeling glad to have a cat like her in the clan. She looked back into the nursery, her whiskers twitching. She was listening to every word that Oakwhisker was saying, but her eyes were everted elsewhere.

    Gorsewing

The tom had woken up to the sound of Oakwhisker yowling a meeting. He scrambled out of his nest, and dashed out of the warriors den, skidding to a halt beside Tidesong, sitting down quickly. He was sure to not sit on one of the kits, and quickly groomed his fur down "Whats happened? I woke up late" He said quickly but quietly, his green orbs focusing on Tidesong, eager for information about the meeting before it was dismissed for good. He bumped his tail up and down on the ground, slightly irritated at himself. He usually never woke up late, but obviously he had been very tired last night. He kept having horrid dreams of blood and cats wailing, but he couldn't talk about them openly to others; he would feel to awkward talking about it.

indentoakwhisker nodded to ashpaw. "yes, we will get away as soon as possible, i just want to make sure everyone knows what they're doing." turning to blizzardheart, he let out a loud purr. "even if i did, i'd have someone to look after me." he looked at his apprentice proudly. in a more serious tone, he added, "we will. it's quite a way away, so we need to get our strength up." on the subject, he quickly checked for travelling herbs. plenty. "anyway. if we need it, would you help some oe the cats medicine wise? since i'm taking my apprentice away, and birchstep is hopeless!" oakwhisker nudged his friend playfully. "right, yes, we should head off soon. we'll be back by this time tomorrow, if not, assume we're dead." he smiled jokingly, before hesaving himself to his paws. "thank you, blizzardheart, birchstep. i appreciate it a lot." he grinned at them both, before grabbing some travelling herbs, and splitting them between him and ashpaw. "okay. hopefully we don't bump into any flameclan patrols, but they wouldn't dare attack medicine cats." he narrowed his eyes as he thought about their rival clan. and hopefully they don't attack while we're gone..

Lilystem

Lilystem padded quickly and lightly to the medicine den. Oh, why did she have to do things at inconvenient times! She walked up to the group of cats and ended up standing beside Birchstep. She dipped her head at him. He would be a worthy choice to be leader, although he would never be as good as FrostStar in her opinion.
"May I have those poppy seeds now?" She asked, hoping it didn't sound rude. "If you know where they are." She meowed politely. As she waited she watched as Oakwhisker and Ashpaw readying to leave. What would happen while they were gone?

Sitting on the ground, ears straight and erected in attention
the tom listened to the word's of The clan's medicine cat addressed the clan with
current problems that all in one way or another effected every other cat sitting down
listening, including Blazenight. The young orange and black cat paid attention to every
word the nervous cat said spoke, he wanted to encourage the cat for all his hard work
but as soon as he finished he was swept up into his duty. Standing up he yawned before
heading for the fresh-kill pile, under his short fur it was easy to see his muscles move
as the cat shuffled through the pile of deceased animals in search of the freshest one.
Dipping his head into the pile he pulled out a small mouse big enough for just Hume before
searching for a spot out of the way where he could enjoy his meal.

Finding a cozy place just on the outer border of the clan Blazenight dropped the mouse
before laying behind it, the soft grass tickled his underbelly ever so slightly as he settled
down and rested his head onto his soft paws. From his spot he could watch the clan
perfectly as he sorted his thoughts. Thank god for Oakwhisker, without the medicine
cat's duty the clan would've fallen apart, after all in a mater of a few moons they lost
two high ranks that guided the clan. On the verge of anarchy and war against Flameclan
it was a miracle that no young and immature warrior took their place otherwise they'd
be plunged in a unprepared war, but even than war was still lurking close by. Just thinking
about it made the warrior loose his apetite as his gaze fell upon Dovestep as the queen
exited the nursery. Poor Dovestep, loosing her mate. Blazenight thought he was sinking
into a depression, he couldn't image what the queen had to do just to smile in front of her kits.

Ivykit's attention with quickly diverted to Fawndrop as the she-cat laid a gentle paw on her, playfully chirping for she and her brother to show her their hunting crouches. With no hesitation, the she-cat turned lightly on her paws to face Fawndrop.
"You'll have to wait until I'm an apprentice," The she-kit teased in a light tone, "Only Ivypaw reveals her secrets- Ivykit's muzzle is sealed." The tiny molly brushed her tail gently over her muzzle, gesturing along with her words. She beamed up towards Fawndrop, excitement glittering in her eyes as she spoke to the she-cat.
"I wonder who my mentor will be..." She was speaking aloud now, her words not directed to any cat in particular. She did this often, her thoughts rolling from her tongue simply because there was too much going on in her head to keep it all in.

"Maybe you'll be my mentor!" She glowed, her head spinning instantly to face Fawndrop. She didn't have any mentor preferences as she enjoyed the personalities of each cat in her clan in a different manner and was interested to hear all of their training tactics. She glanced in the direction of Dovestep who had padded nearer from the nursery, a giddy Owlkit on her heels as they emerged into the clearing and came to stand in the small group gathered by the edge of camp.

Tidesong didn't quite understand why she couldn't pull her eyes off of Dovestep's kits as they pounced around her paws in an excited fashion. They were growing quickly as ever, the size of apprentices now really, and this thought excited her. The kits were the first sign that she was becoming integrated into the clan from her previous life, experiencing a new generation of warriors moving up in their ranks from kits to apprentices and eventually beyond that. She couldn't help but wonder if she'd be assigned any, though a part of her didn't want to deal with the hassle of this bunch. They all seemed uninterested in tactic and more looking forward to the title of a warrior rather than learning the responsibilities that came with it which was something that bothered her specifically. She'd spent so long herself perfecting life under the warrior code and she didn't even grown up in the environment, it seemed irresponsible, cats training for the name.

Tidesong glanced towards Gorsewing as he approached, her thoughts of the kits slowly dissipating as he spoke to her, questioning about the meeting. Of course he slept late. Tidesong muttered inwardly. No leader, no responsible cats. The she-cat remarked in her mind, though never making any outward statements so not to disrespect the warrior.
"Oakwhisker and Ashpaw are visiting the dragon cave to speak to StarClan about our new leader." Tidesong informed him nonchalantly, "We leave for the gathering after they return." She added to the tom.

❄ ashpaw » oakwhisker & blizzardheart

Postby peter parker. » Wed Oct 21, 2015 7:01 pm

A S H P A W
┊tom┊9 moons┊med. cat apprentice┊

Ashpaw rolled his eyes as Oakwhisker pushed his remarks aside, continuing conversation with his fellow clanmates. He switched his gaze to the sky, watching the run rise high in the sky. We won't make it in time if he keeps chatting. Ashpaw told himself impatiently, unsheathing his claws into the earth beneath him. He wouldn't dare question Oakwhisker or display his annoyance outwardly as he knew he'd only be reprimanded, but these thoughts constantly flooded him. The tom always had a place to go at a specific time and wouldn't be bothered by those who aren't punctual. This of course was difficult when you were an apprentice without the authority to tell others to hurry up when they're lagging.

Ashpaw was forced to push his feelings aside as Blizzardheart padded into view, the tom replacing his irritation with a forced smile, nodding politely to the elderly she-cat. He watched the three exchange friendly banter as he kept quiet on the side. His ears flicked in the direction of Blizzardheart as she addressed him teasingly.
"He doesn't need eyes on him." Ashpaw laughed at her comment. He always felt awkward in these situations, not knowing whether to joke back or nod silently back with a fake grin and chuckled tacked along with it. Ashpaw noticed Oakwhisker begin to wrap up his conversation with the pair, hopping to his paws gingerly and snatching up the supplies Oakwhisker had pushed at his paws.

The tom said nothing, edging closer to the mouth of the medicine den and hoping Oakwhisker would take the lead out through the territory, even though Ashpaw knew the area well. He could walk IceClan territory in his sleep as he'd done many times before when he was a kittypet. The clan had always excited him and he would often pretend to be a clan cat himself, adventuring through the woods undetected. He gave a curt nod to both Blizzardheart and Birchstep, waiting for Oakwhisker's final goodbyes so they could head off on their mission.

indentoakwhisker turned around to ashpaw, and nodded. "okay, it's time." he dipped his head to the other cats in his den. "thank you all, i appreciate it, so much." he smiled gladly at his friends, before padding towards the exit. "right. as i said, we'll be back by sunhigh tomorrow. keep safe, you lot, and i'll see you later on!" with that, he strolled through the camp, and called out, "me and ashpaw are off. visit blizzardheart if you need a medicine cat, and treat birchstep like a leader. we'll be back by sunhigh tomorrow. farewell!"
indentquicker than before, oakwhisker strode up the path which would eventually lead the medicine cats to the dragon cave. "quite chilly," he commented to his apprentice, puffing out his chest fur. better not leave them waiting any longer. "hopefully the travelling herbs will kick in soon!" he laughed, his eyes stinging with tiredness. after a moment's silence, he added, "you know, i'm very proud of you, ashpaw. i know it has been hard for you, but it will get better, i promise you. plus, i need somebody to keep me right when i get older!" he flicked ashpaw's ear affectionately with his tail, a gleam in his eyes. "i'm so grateful for all your help."

Birchstep - Iceclan - 34 Moons - Warrior - Tagged; Tagged - Location; camp

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Birchstep nodded in response to his friend's request, "of course, I'll be sure to look out for all the clan members, there's no need to worry," he promised him, flicking his tail over his friends shoulder to comfort him. He couldn't help but feel that the tom wasn't fully focused. He was about to question whether he was alright, when Ashpaw spoke. Birchstep glanced between Oakwhisker and Ashpaw, taking a few steps forward to look properly outside the den, "so it is," he announced, noticing Blizzardheart approach. His tail waved with amusement, "good job my medicine skills won't be needed with you around," he said lightly to Blizzardheart. Listening to Oakwhiskers words, he scoffed "hopeless", he protested. "No I am," he admitted, chuckling slightly. "No, they wouldn't try and hurt a medicine cat," he confirmed, feeling slightly uneasy at the thought of the Flameclan warriors. "You'll be fine," he decided, reassuring himself more than Oakwhisker and Ashpaw. Birchstep glanced over a broad shoulder, observing Lilystem behind him and walking to his side. Observing Ashpaw's eagerness, Birchstep smiled. "Yeah, you should get going, or else you'll never make it there!" He said. As much as he didn't want them to leave, Birchstep knew it was part of their devotion towards the clan. He nodded back at Ashpaw and the smile faded. They were going now. "We all will," he said, walking forwards. "Good luck you two," he finished, sitting at the mouth of the den, exchanging a couple of smiling glances. Watching them leave, Birchstep gathered himself to his paws and observed the camp. What to do now? He questioned, briefly glancing at Blizzardheart. Birchstep headed towards the camp clearing and sat, figuring out what he should do next.

Robinpaw - Iceclan - 9 Moons - Apprentice - Tagged; Tagged - Location; camp

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Robinpaw observed the huddle of cats around the medicine cat den. She knew that Ashpaw and Oakwhisker were going on a tiring journey, but she had no idea what they would experience along the way or whilst they were there. Wishing to say goodbye, Robinpaw briskly trotted over to the den, her tortoiseshell fur bouncing with every step. The apprentice peered her head around the corner of the den and looked inside. After the couple of cats inside said there farewells, Robinpaw approached Ashpaw and Oakwhisker. The small tortoiseshell dipped her head and smiled. "Good luck!" She beemed excitedly, looking at Ashpaw and then flicking her glance towards Oakwhisker. The apprentice sat and watched the pair leave camp and her eyes wandered around the camp. I wonder what training I'll do today... She thought, observing the movements of the other cats.

Once the annoying and menial task of transporting the prey was completed, Frostclaw padded across camp and position himself outside of the apprentice's den. Patrol was needed; everyone knew that. But himself, whom seemed to have a knack for agitating even the most patient of warriors, simply observed. He'd done his warrior tasks - hunt, scout the border, and even a little sidetask that was being ignored; transporting the meager prey pile so it wasn't completely soiled. Not that it unduly matters. Not a soul will notice. Letting his icy eyes slide half shut, Frostclaw dozed lightly, until he heard the cry of Oakwhisker pierce his eardrums. Flicking his ebony ears idly, Frostclaw opened his orbs a bit wider, turning every so slightly to observe. It was simple - Oakwhisker was going to speak to the medicine cats. Starclan shall have an answer for us soon. But instead of trepidation, excitement or inquiry, Frostclaw felt only relief. They grow ill of listening to me speak of what must be done. Now, Starclan can speak of a leader, and the order will be restored. Schedules will be put back into place, and we will have a decent showing for the gathering. The meeting ended. At that point, Frostclaw released a soft yawn, his long pearly canines flashing in the weak morning light. As his maw closed once more, he cast his gaze towards the medicine cat's den. A small group had gathered there to wish them well. Perhaps Oakwhisker should have requested tasks to be done while he was absent. But, even as the thought crossed his mind, Frostclaw knew it was not Oakwhisker's place nor in the cat's heart to do such. Ah well. Shifting once more in almost bored manner, his eyes closed slowly. Sunhigh tomorrow was a long time to wait when no one had any inspiration, or patience for inarticulate beings.
