Applebreeze

"Thank you," with a dip of his head Applebreeze left camp. He picked up Rainfeather's scent and followed. Applebreeze found her by the base of a red alder. "Come on, Rainfeather, we need to hunt. I figured we would try by the stream."

Rainfeather stopped to catch her breath. She stayed where she was until Applebreeze appeared. "Come on, Rainfeather, we need to hunt. I figured we would try by the stream." He said. Rainfeather stayed behind Applebreeze as he led the way.

Nightkit

Nightkit looked toward the medicine cat's den. From there he could smell an abundance of scents. He wanted to run in there and find the source for each one, but he held back.

Hollyfrost

Hollyfrost gazed at Nightkit, she wanted to know what her kit was thinking. She would have asked but she saw Nightkit was zoned out and she didn't want to disturb him. It was hard enough finding a time when a kit was running around getting in trouble.

Mintstar padded over to Hollyfrost and looked at the queen and her kit. "Hello, Hollyfrost." She mewed swiftly, flicking her tail, left, right, left, right. She took a sharp breath in, scenting the air for anything.

Nightkit noticed Mintstar coming up to Hollyfrost. He turned to hear what they were talking about.

"Greetings, Mintstar." Hollyfrost thought Mintstar didn't look very well, "Nightkit, seems to be doing well." Hollyfrost hoped that a healthy kit would help cheer up Mintstar.

Mintstar nodded, "Good." She mewed, looking at Nightkit. She gave him a swift lick before wondering who'd she pick for deputy. She breathed deeply, trying to calm herself down. I want to pick Applebreeze, but... Her mind raced with thoughts as she blinked, and shoved the idea out of her head, at least, tried to.

Applebreeze searched for the scent of prey. "Why don't you try farther up stream, you can scare prey towards me easily from there."

Rainfeather

"Why don't you try farther up stream, you can scare prey towards me easily from there." Applebreeze spoke. Rainfeather took his advice and crept silently. She couldn't scent anything but looked keenly.

Hollyfrost

Hollyfrost still hoped to make her feel better. "He'll be a strong warrior." Hollyfrost said.

Nightkit

Nightkit looked up to Mintstar, would this be a good time to talk to her? "He'll be a strong warrior." He heard Hollyfrost say. Well, this would have to be when he said something. "What if I don't want to be a warrior?"

The words Nightkit said caught her attention. "What do you mean?" She meows softly, looking at Nightkit, who seemed unafraid of her, unlike other kits.

Hollyfrost was taken off gaurd. She stared at her kit in wonder.

"I want to be a medicine cat." The words came out easier than Nightkit thought they would.

Applebreze waited patiently for a long time. Eventually he heard the footsteps of prey. When a mouse came into sight he waited a moment longer and pounced when it came within reach. He made the easy kill, as he saw Rainfeather come back into view.

Rainfeather was lucky, she found a hungry vole foraging. There was no need to flush it toward Applebreeze, she killed it without a problem, and went looking for more after hiding it.
