@*Macey*,
Thank you. It's Jackalhowl by the way.
@Emily + Allison,
Hawkcry and Flarepaw are the only ones that are open now that *Macey* is working on a reply for Jackalhowl. Feel free to approach either of them - Hawkcry's by the Oasis "lake" and is drinking, and Flarepaw is just.. off to the side of camp I guess.
Also, on your signature, since I didn't catch you with it, I won't be striking you. Thanks for reminding her, Rukia.!

-Yeah sorry Triangles. I usually don't forget, it's harder for me to remember on mobile because it doesn't always load the full editor-
Coyoteclaw - She-Cat
Coyoteclaw shifted from one paw to the other, her body tired and achey as she waited for the ceremony to begin. She flickered her ears from conversation to conversation, not landing on any one in particular. She heard several cats guessing who the new deputy would be, the name brought up the most was Troutsplash. She flicked her tail, her thoughts tracing the past weeks. He was a good choice, Scorchstar would be blind not to see it, that much she had to admit. Her stomach churned slightly, thirst catching in her throat. She pushed herself to her paws and trudged towards the oasis, her head slightly low, ears still swiveling to catch on to conversations. As she approached the Oasis she caught sight of Hawkcry, her ears pricking forward. "Hawkcry" she meowed, alerting the tim to her presence.
-I do have a set-up I'm just still on mobile. Sorry!-

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Hawkcry lifted his massive tabby head from the rippling, dark, churning waters below him. The great, dark brute was pleasantly full now, and he noisily, just to seek attention, smacked his moistened lips and draw his tongue across his sopping muzzle. The muscular brute, grunting and hissing all the way, slowly eased himself out of his crouch to a sitting position. Then, once repositioned on his stocky haunches, he began to preen his stubby, white whiskers, carefully moving his paw so as not to disturb his shoulder wounds. His intelligent, cold, pale blue eyes roved over the camp once more. It was getting to be so dark, he could hardly see himself.. much less the cats around him. Hawkcry was one with the darkness. How fitting.
In fact, it was so dark, that all he could see of his Clanmates were the glowing orbs that were their eyes, and the flitting, silvery silhouettes that were their bodies when they entered the moonlight that trickled from the heavens. Hawkcry yawned then, spreading his jaws wide and showing off his gleaming, pearly whites in the process. But he quickly snapped his mouth shut and ceased in his irritatingly loud yawning when he heard someone - a she-cat, he could tell, by her voice - call out to him. Instantly, all signs of any of the warrior's lingering rage with Scorchstar and Batpaw or agony because of his wounds vanished from his intelligent eyes and posture, He straightened himself up, pricked his ears, held his shoulders back, and puffed out his chest when he caught sight of Coyoteclaw, a slightly younger feline than he, making her way towards him. He was his normal self once more - it was as if all of the tom's emotions were erased from his face. He looked to be his normal, casual, and flirt self again.
Finally! Some attention from the ladies.. The hunk thought, a wide, charming, and slightly devilish smile inching its way across his face then. Classic Hawkcry. He meowed, politely, rotating a bit to face Coyoteclaw, "Good evening. How do you do?"{It's fine!
Also, probably my last post for a bit. Homework to do!}

Coyoteclaw
Coyoteclaw felt his gaze shift to her immediately, despite the darkness that lingered over the oasis. She caught sight of the flicker of light in his eyes and rotated her ears towards him. She could hear his breathing settle, the sand shifting beneath him as he rotated towards her. She stiffened slightly, her eyes flickering towards his face. "Very well in fact, and you?" she meowed politely making her way towards the black, churning water. It lapped at her paws, enticing her as she crouched down to lap at the water. The coolness slid down her throat, settling in her stomach. The sensation settled her as she shifted back into a sitting position, turning her body ever so slightly to face the tom, her tail wrapped daintily around her paws.

I lick my silver whiskers as I finish my much needed meal. Though my conversation with Flarepaw was brief, I was glad that we had talked, even though it resurfaced grief for the both of us. I stand and arch my back high as I widen my jaws into a satisfied yawn. With a small shake up my pelt, I take a seat on the sandy ground. I scan the large, open clearing before me. Me green gaze meets a farmiliar pelt and I stand to greet Jackalhowl.
" Hello there Jackalhowl." I purr warmly,
" How are you this evening?" I take a seat in front of the large male, wrapping my striped tail neatly around my white paws. I give my fluffy chest a few hasty licks as my flirtiness begins to settle in. Jackalhowl had never shown interest for me, or any other she-cat for that matter, but it seemed to be in my nature to speak to toms in such away. Well except when it came to those who had angered me.
{sorry for such a lazy post, I'm currently on mobile, and may be for another day or so.}

➹ Noeyes ➷ She-cat ➹ Elder of DesertClan ➷ 90 moons old ➹

Noeyes' ears sensitive ears pricked and stood erect when she heard someone else pad up to her and inquire if she could stick around to hear the elder's tale. Quickly, the Russian blue distinguished her voice to be feminine, and could easily guess who the kind cat was. She rasped, "Quailfeather? Is that you, my dear? Oh, no bother! Of course you can listen in.. Today's tale is one, of course, of adventure, but also.." Her voice trailed off a bit and her brow furrowed and her whiskers began to tremble. "One of sadness and tragedy.."
But soon enough she was back to her bubbly self and was happy again, excited to begin her story. "Ready, you two? Settle down, because it's a long one!"

➹ Ant ➷ She-cat ➹ Rogue ➷ 29 moons old ➹ The desert! ➷ Tags; Rainwhisper ➹
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The bony rogue could literally see the blue-grey Clannies's gears whirring and twisting and deciphering Ant's words in that pretty little head of hers.. The way the slightly older female's eyes rover over Ant so hesitantly and warily and indecisively was almost amusing to the skinny, bedraggled creature that had dared reveal herself to the DesertClan cat. First there was astonishment and mortification in her green eyes, then a little hint of ire, then suspicion and confusion. The she-cat's inability to decide how to respond made a little purr gurgle in the Abyssinian cat's throat, and she waved her whip-like, abnormally long tail through the cold, crisp nighttime air just to symbolize this amusement.
Up close, Ant knew she'd been correct about this cat's pretty looks. The blue-grey feline was even more gorgeous up close, much as the rogue hated to admit that so suddenly in the back of her mind. Her fur, awfully unlike Ant's, was smooth and matted down - hardly a hair stuck out of place, while the russet-brown, dusty female's pelt was sticking every which way and her whiskers were mussed. Ant perceived herself to be a total mess, while the blue-grey, green-eyed cat just a mouse-length before her resembled a desert flower: innocent, sweet, and seemingly perfect. Though.. maybe not so perfect. The rogue had seen the cat's posture when she'd prayed, had heard the grief in her small, shaky voice when she'd mumbled to some fictional ancestors of hers. She had even glimpsed, among the wild flurry of emotions in the Clannies's widened eyes, something dark and formidable. Almost as if she was haunted by something.. or someone. Then again, every cat had their secrets to hide and their inner demons to battle. Who was Ant to judge?
They regarded each other for a while longer, sizing one another up, though they both, clearly, didn't want a late night fight. The rogue was beginning to muster up a response, when the female, who introduced herself to be Rainwhisper, spoke at long last. Ant had to admit, though.. Rainwhisper's voice didn't sound as insecure and pathetic as she'd thought it would. It had an aura of confidence in it.. Was the DesertClan cat trying out Ant's mannerisms of speaking and trying to arm herself with honey-soaked words and soft, cooing purrs? The nerve! But there was, in fact, one thing that the Abyssinian noticed above all about Rainwhisper. Those inner demons that the feline had seen struggling in those gleaming, thoughtful eyes of hers? They had disappeared.
Quickly, the parched, starving, and bone-tired rogue shot back a retort. Her voice dropped a little bit of its sugariness, as she'd picked up on Rainwhisper's change in mood and voice and intended to mirror it. Her mew now held more friendliness and playfulness rather than shyness when she said, "Ah, never met an ant you ever liked, eh?.." Ant, pressuring Rainwhisper a little bit, then paused and leaned closer, diminishing the gap between them at an almost inappropriate speed. The rogue, audacious still, drew herself up onto her tiptoes and struck her tail through the air once more. She widened her eyes even more than she thought possible, and they did their special little thing that truly enraptured all: they glowed. They pulsated and vibrated like little living beings that were inhabited her skull, and, as Ant continued, the brighter those golden orbs grew, "Maybe, just maybe, I can change that."
She allowed a small, peculiarly wicked and crooked smile to inch across her maw then, and leaned back just a tad, sweeping on, "Future, honey? Future, indeed. I'll expect to see you again.. and, oh, I'll keep seeing you until you've changed your mind about the little ol' insect I was named after.. Besides, who ever said I was spying? 'Spying' is a rather inclusive and subjective word, isn't it?"

➹ Jackalhowl ➷ Tomcat ➹ Warrior of DesertClan ➷ 36 moons old
➹ Location: DesertClan camp; basically just sitting wherever. ➷ Tags; Mossleap ➹
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The stocky, fluffy tomcat's yellow-green, glowing eyes stayed riveted to Browntail as the younger tom strode off. The main coon's wandering gaze followed the former rogue as he stalked off to the warriors' den, and when Jackalhowl was, at last, sure that he was alone in his own little world, he swiveled his head away from Browntail with a sigh that was full of relief. The main coon had had one too many interactions for the day... first with Mistcloud, who had tried to coax him out from his bush, then with Cactusfoot and Larkpelt, then with Russetstorm - the most awkward of the encounters by far - and then finally Browntail, whose conversation with Jackalhowl had gone smoothly, for the most part. Now the big brute was ready to follow Browntail to the den and collapse into his nest.. He was more than ready to escape his embarrassments of the day, slip off into slumber, and then start a new day again tomorrow. Yes, a new day full of humiliation, probably.
The thickly-furred warrior got to his feet then, deciding that he'd best hit the hay. He stretched for a long while, somehow being elegant in his doing so despite his abominable size and large feet. Jackalhowl relished in the cracking of his muscles and the sensation of his stiff joints unfolding, and, as if on cue just to beckon him to his rabbit-fur-lined nest, a yawn erupted from his jaws. As he stretched, his eyes feverishly skipped around camp.
He hadn't realized it before, but the camp had grown.. Very dark. Almost too dark. The warrior could hardly see a thing whatsoever, only the silvery shapes of his Clanmates darting hither and thither. The fact that he'd only just now realized how dark it was made him want to kick himself. What a boneheaded, weasel-hearted fool he was!
When Jackalhowl was finished with his luxurious stretching, he forced his feet to start moving towards the warriors' den. He was guided by only sound, so pitch black was the land about him, and a little bit by sight.. Though his eyes needed a little more time to adjust to the lighting in order to enhance his vision. He didn't get far before his pricked ears heard the telltale sound of paws pattering his way and the grinding noise of sand beneath one's feet. Abruptly, he stopped, waiting for whoever was behind him to say something, and inwardly let out a loud groan. He had been so close to freedom! The freedom of his own nest, at least. Who was it that dared interrupt his close escape from another social situation?
Jackalhowl turned quickly, yellow-green eyes widened almost fearfully and stout head tilted awkwardly to the side. He saw the cat that he'd heard to be Mossleap, a pretty silver tabby that didn't tend to speak with him much. He wondered why she was taking the time to even bother with him.. How strange! And was she... flirting with him? Though Jackalhowl had never been flirted with and had never even thought of flirting with a male or female, he had seen other felines do it. In fact, he found it to be obnoxious and a little immature. Flirting was something silly apprentices did!
I like you fine, Jackalhowl's gaze seemed to whisper to Mossleap as he faced her, silent for a few heartbeats and unaware of how to respond, but not like that. I don't even know you - you are a stranger to me. Please don't make things more awkward than they have to be. Don't ruin a possible companionship with that sort of thing. It's obvious that it's not my memo.
The male tried to plaster a happy, reassuring, and pleasant smile on his maw, but it probably wasn't very convincing to the fellow warrior. He meowed, "Mossleap. Hello," When he saw her take a seat, he assumed he'd better do so as well, and pivoted a little to settle himself down, down, down onto his furry behind. "Ah, all's well, I suppose. Nothing much is going on, so I'm fine. You, then?"

➹ Hawkcry ➷ Tomcat ➹ Warrior of DesertClan ➷ 31 moons old ➹
Location: Beside the Oasis lake. ➷ Tags; Coyoteclaw ➹
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The dark, monstrously massive tomcat studied Coyoteclaw, almost in a creepy and rather intimidating way, as she bent to drink. Hawkcry had honestly.. never understood the molly before him. Coyoteclaw had always seemed distant, loyal to her last breath, and reserved, but in her presence, he couldn't help but let his mind wander.
She'd never really seemed like his type before, but then again, he had always had a certain appreciation for the more rugged, dutiful females.. He had indeed always sought a partner that could put him in his place. Great StarClan, he liked bossy she-cats, and there was something about the golden-eyed, dust-colored female before him that told him that she was a force to be reckoned with - that she should never be taken for granted. Just like Hawkcry himself.
Then again, though, he'd never spoken with the fellow warrior. Maybe I should give her a chance to get to know little old me before I try to make a move on her. Just make some conversation and don't let one charming word escape your jaws. For now.
Still studying Coyoteclaw, and now lost in a small void of thought, the dark tabby didn't respond right away to her terse question. He watched her rise and watched her wrap her tail around her feet before meowing, voice silky as a kitten's downy pelt, "I'm... decent." Of course, right then and there, Hawkcry let a small, prideful sneer scrawl across his face and rolled one of his injured shoulders just to impress. Ouch! The herbal plaster cracked a little, and Hawkcry felt blood trickle from the wound he'd just angered, but still, the pale blue-eyed male's cocky grin stayed atop his maw as he added, "I got into a little scrap with a rogue yesterday if you hadn't heard, by the way, and while I was training Batpaw on my expertise in sparring earlier, some of the wounds get reopened again. Nothing I can't handle, of course."

➹ Scorchstar ➷ Tomcat ➹ Leader of DesertClan ➷ 42 moons old
- eight lives left ➹ Location: Beside the Oasis lake. ➷ Tags; Batpaw, then Troutsplash ➹
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Scorchstar, still in a pleasant and more chipper mood than usual because of the apprentice's uncharacteristic excitement at his proposition, watching the worn out tom pad off. He meowed one last farewell to him, and, just when he thought he could relax for a bit and think in silence, he turned about and found Troutsplash. He faintly remembered seeing the deputy-to-be sitting off to the side, watching the leader and the apprentice talk, and felt quilt about not talking to him earlier. StarClan knows how long the patient feline had been sitting there, awaiting the tall tabby's attention.
He meowed, emerald eyes losing a bit of their gown when he saw the nervousness in the warrior's gaze, growing a little concerned, "Good evening, Troutsplash," The orange tabby's eyes rover over the grey-brown tabby, and his head tilted to the side a little. What had he sent the tom out to do again? Oh. Oh, yes, catch that stupid rogue that had stolen a rat from the fresh-kill pile around dawn... With all the chaos of today, Scorchstar had honestly forgotten the warrior's task, yet tried to cover up his brief bit of confusion. "Sorry to keep you waiting. You didn't complete your task, you say? No bother, really." He twitched his whiskers and lifted a skinny paw, waving it in the air nonchalantly as he spoke. "Rogues getting away with things isn't very uncommon, as you know... If the trader dares to come back, and I doubt it will, because it knows you and the patrol were looking for it, we'll give it a few wounds across the snout to remember us by. But, if you didn't catch the trespasser, I certainly won't punish you for your efforts. I'm sure you pursued the rogue with all you had, but if it got away, I won't lose sleep over it, and neither should you."
He's almost.. frightened of me. I can't have that. Troutsplash and I have known each other since we were kittens, and though we weren't the closest of friends, surely he knows that he can trust his own leader with not flipping out on him for making one simple mistake? The massive, thin tomcat thought, mulling over Troustplash.
He continued, after pausing for a moment to recollect his thoughts and focus on the subject of this other individual that the patrol had dragged in. Another rogue? Of course. The bat-eared leader should've known. Scorchstar licked his lips and narrowed his eyes, still trying to keep his voice light when he continued, "I wouldn't mind at all. I'm keen to meet our newest visitor." His emerald gaze slid upward, slowly, drifting from the warrior's face to the nearly-pitch-black sky above. "But we need to make it quick."
