Welcome to the hunger games. Each year one boy and one girl from each district will be selected to participate in a battle to the death. The contestants will have to face multiple challenges, including the fight to stay alive in the terrain that is given. The only way to win is being able to adapt to the environment, not fully trusting everyone you come by, and being able to deal with what the game makers have planned. Twenty-four will die and only one will survive. Who will be the victor of the seventy-third Hunger Games?

Note that this roleplay only consists of the battle in the arena and the interviews that happen before. The plot will not consist of any other variable. Characters from the books are nonexistent, and may not be used or referred to at any point during the roleplay. Only original characters may be used.

Rules and Important Things
Three Strikes and You’re Out

“Scene”, “Goth”, and “Emo” characters will not be accepted. Be original and go find a reference of someone that looks like a normal human being. On top of this, only real images are allowed.

•Characters between the ages of 12 and 18 will be accepted.

•Mentors are not needed in this roleplay and neither are prep teams.

•This is a literate/semi-literate roleplay. You must post at least two fully written paragraphs on a god day, and considering writers’ block, one well-written paragraph on a bad day. No matter the length, they must be well thought-out, fully written sentences with a developed style and with correct spelling and grammar.

•You are writing in 3rd person, past tense.

•You are only allowed to kill another person’s character if you receive their express permission via private message. This is very important.

•Don’t cling to your character like it’s your own life. Be open to his or her death, or else this roleplay will get absolutely nowhere.

•All of the forum and site rules apply, which also means tat topics must be kept at the level of PG13. Romance and violence are okay, and even needed to keep this roleplay alive. Just remember to keep it only to the extent of PG13.

•There will be absolutely no Powerplaying, God-Modding, nor Mary/Gary Sues. This ruins it for everyone, an this type of roleplay might be prone to such a thing—so take utter care. This particular offense counts as two strikes.

•Limit OOC (Out of Character) to when it’s absolutely necessary. And if you feel that you must, please write it in [[Brackets]], ((Parentheses)), or {{Anything Similar}}.

•This is not a one on one roleplay. This is a group event. We will take turns, and not go on extremely long one on one posts with someone else. Seriously, this is annoying and is counted as three strikes.

•There will be twelve character slots in total. It will be mass chaos if there are actually 24 characters (Like in the books).

•At the very beginning where the tributes are first released and are able to go to the Cornucopia, we will assume that twelve died in total. If you wish, you can roleplay the killing of one of them, seeing as though they don’t exist under the control of another character.

•The Career Pack is only open to the tributes of 1, 2 and 4. The tributes of these particular districts will have to discuss certain matters over PM. IF another district wants to join the Career Pack, it’s up to the people already in it to make the decision.

•You need to have at least read the first book in the Hunger Games series, or be able to know every detail needed to participate.

•The terrain will be announced when I start the games.

•The roleplay will start with the interviews of the tributes. Each tribute will be asked 3 questions. It will go in order of the lowest district to the highest district, girl and then boy. (For example: 1 girl, 1 boy, 2 girl, 2 boy, etcetera). This is how I want the posting style to be for the interviews only: Me > First in Line > Me > Second in Line > etcetera.
Once these are done we will skip straight to the games, where we will take turns. If someone doesn’t post for more than 2 days, and we’re waiting on them, we will skip them.

•I will also play the roles of the game makers and the interviewer, just to make things easier In no way will I ever work in someone’s favor, so don’t worry (:

•Do not use smilies during the actual roleplay. Don’t use chatspeak and limit abbreviations.

•Alliances among tributes may be formed, but if one gets too out-of-hand, then I’m forced to break it up.

•Once/If your character(s) die, you can still read the roleplay and you have the reserved privileges to make OOC comments that are relevant at your leisure.

•There is a maximum of three characters, and even then they will have to be various genders and from different districts.

•Keep the genders even, please. I will accept six girls and six guys, to know that for future reference.

•This list will be added to as I can think of more bullet points to add.

The Shepherd's dark eyes darted around. Sheep, he had to find sheep.
He hated this...this blind fear that coursed through him. It wasn't a feeling he knew, nor one he'd ever get used to. He had to get home, back to the flock left weak and unprotected from the dangers that awaited them. He had already lost enough time, first in the hands of a human family, then behind the bars of the cage. The sooner he returned to his family, the better.
But there weren't any sheep here. Just bright lights and loud sounds that stung his ears. The ground felt rough and unnatural beneath his paws, and he longed for the soft grass of his home in the field. People were rushing past, more than he had ever seen in his short life. They were everywhere, rushing about, pushing him aside, and sitting in strange shining machines. Machines that yelled and made growling noises when they moved. Things that normally he would chase away and attack, but what was there to defend?

He shook his head, trying to drive the thoughts from his mind. This was all too much, too overwhelming for the dog that spent his entire life among sheep. He wasn't meant to be there. Despite his size, he couldn't help but feel like a tiny helpless puppy.

So he started running, deciding that he'd run back home to the farm. He had no way way of knowing just how far from home he truly was. He just knew that he wanted to be there.
His journey was quickly cut short, skidding to a stop as he suddenly approached a group of dogs. Once again panic surged through his body. A pack. He thought, his fur bristling. The thought that he no longer had a flock to protect didn't occur to him, the sight of the other strays instinctively frightened him. He could take a coyote easily, one dog was a fair fight, but a pack... well, he was lucky they usually ran off when they realized it wasn't a free meal.
Then he realized they were running, only pausing a second to wait for the machines to slow. Confused by this and now almost curious, he bolted after them, narrowly avoiding a collision with one. They were like cows, he thought. He always knew there was a reason he preferred guarding sheep.

"Who are you? What is this place?" He asked frantically, turning to the first dog he could find. His voice sounding like a low growl, quickly forming into a whimper, his fear forgotten. "...And what is this stuff?" he snarled, shaking the small rocks from between his paws.

I've read all but the third book, still need to go out and buy it.
