xxxx jacob santillian is the kind of person who likes to make himself known. he's as outgoing as people come, and he's overtly expressive, always letting people know exactly how he feels at any given moment in time. he's friendly and likable, with a generally pleasant demeanor. he's the type how will introduce himself to you even when you had meant to avoid people altogether, especially if you're a girl. you see, he's a flirt, and soon enough, everyone knows it. he's predominantly concerned with making himself look good, caring about how others see him. however, despite his habitual flirting, jacob rarely commits to a relationship. he isn't sure of he could handle the pressure it would surely bring. he prefers to flit and experiment over settling or making a choice. with him, things rarely get past a few playful words and a teasing smile. around others, he occasionally acts brave in stupid ways without thinking of the consequences. that said, he's accident-prone.
xxxx one of the most obvious traits jacob exhibits is his pride. he's confident in his abilities, which can be a positive thing as it means he never backs down from a new challenge because he's afraid. he knows he can conquer any task placed in front of him. however, he often becomes overly confident, showing off and getting himself into trouble. he has an arrogant side that leads to him sometimes looking down on others. he can be seen as obnoxious and haughty because of this.
xxxx jacob's outlook on life is pretty relaxed. he's unconcerned about the future. He doesn't think before he speaks and he doesn't worry about what might happen after he says or does something. consequences aren't something he concerns himself with. he has a tendency to rush through his work to get to the things he enjoys, which led to him getting only okay grades in school despite his relative intelligence and outside of his horse-related duties on his parents' breeding farm, rarely does he last long on a job. it also means any work he might have doesn't get done thoroughly. his behavior can be unpredictable at times because you never know whether he's going to take a situation seriously or not. he doesn't worry about formalities and can come off as either rude or ignorant, depending on who you ask. In addition, he's got a bit of a lip on him. his flippant attitude, especially toward adults, often gets him into trouble. to some, he seems disrespectful. however, he still manages to be relatively well-liked. jacob is amusing, with a knack for dry humor, and his relaxed, laid-back nature makes him easy to get along with. he's easygoing, not the type to hold grudges. for many, he's an approachable, loyal friend.

xxxx jacob's really had the easy life. his parents are wealthy, established breeders of fine warmbloods on a sprawling farm outside of greensboro, north carolina. as their first and only child, he was incredibly spoiled growing up. he attended the top private schools in the area and had the chance to learn to ride and compete on top-level, highly trained horses. really, he faced few challenges as a child and is eager to prove to himself and others that he is ready for what life might throw at him.

simba is, as his name suggests, a lion at heart- courageous, daring, and adventurous. all it takes is a glance at his show records to prove that- not once has he had a refusal in either jumping phase in competition. he doesn't bat an eye at an unfamiliar jump; he just takes it with ease and precision. anyone who has seen him jump knows that he loves his job. he's a cross-country machine, tearing up any course, with his ears pricked forward and a look of sheer bliss on his face as he builds up momentum. sometimes too much momentum- he has a tendency to build up speed gradually to the point where he gets strong and difficult to control. he can be a little clumsy at times in the show jumping ring and not pick his feet up over a rail, occasionally knocking them. in dressage, he's confident and a bit of a showoff. he knows he's handsome, and he likes to strut his stuff. that can't be a bad thing in the show world. he's a fancy mover, not grand prix dressage worthy perhaps, but it's easy to tell he's a warmblood. his gaits are smooth and effortless. however, every horse has some vice, and simba is no exception to that rule. he has a stubborn streak. if he's not in the mood to do something, even the best riders are in for a fight. jacob's philosophy is to avoid this battle by keeping him entertained with variety in his work schedule and never forcing him to do something he isn't comfortable with at that moment. keeping his mind engaged and busting boredom generally keeps the gelding happy, though it does little to improve his poor ground manners. he's nippy and fussy on the ground, though that all changes once he's under saddle. he's forgiving of rider errors; he'll keep jumping if you hit him in the mouth and he will not buck if you give him a little too much spur to the side. he takes care of his rider. however, he's picky about just who is allowed to get on his back. jacob has yet to figure out why some people can and not others, as there doesn't seem to be a particular pattern to it. if he decides he doesn't like someone, he'll just dodge them at the mounting block and not let them get on at all. simba is all business typically; he's very serious about his job. he revels in the work he does. simba was born on jacob's parents' breeding farm, gelded because he showed more of an aptitude for eventing than stallion testing. he is currently successfully competing at training level with hopes to move up in the future

fancy does her best to live up to her name. with fancy gaits and a high opinion of herself, she sees herself as a champion and often lives up to it. she has a typical mareish attitude in addition, with a tendency to kick out at other horse who get too close and occasional wild mood swings that will leave her going from a sweet and willing partner to an angry brat throwing out kicks at random times. however, she's as competitive as they come and jacob can see her value as a future show horse. she has only been under saddle for six months and already is developing a neat frame for dressage and has jumped easily over one and a half to two foot fences. she hasn't done a lot of work on the cross country course but seems to enjoy jumping. she can be a little slow and lazy at times, so a whip for encouragement has proved to be effective. she still has a lot of work to be done, but it might just be worth it.
fancy was born on a trakehner breeding farm. she barely scraped by on inspection day, so instead of becoming a brood mare, she was to be sold as a competition horse. because of her bad attitude and inability to be turned out in a group, her price was reduced so she could be sold quickly. jacob purchased her himself with the money he had earned working at various jobs- none of which had lasted very long. For two months he only did ground work with the mare and the pair bonded. when the filly was three and a half, she was broke and began work under saddle. she took to it with ease and is shaping up into a fine, if moody, mount.

Personality; He may seem mean but is actually nice once you get to meet him. He has a passion for horses will occasionally draw them. When ever he draws his horse he hangs the picture up in her stall. He can be shy one day but totally ready to hang out and talk the next. This may cause him to seem bipolar but he really is not.
