You glance back at your stump. "Well," you say, with an amused sigh. "I did learn the hard way."

Laurel chuckles, then lifts up a paw to his mouth. "Sorry. I shouldn't laugh at that."

"I said it with the intent to joke," you reply patiently. "You were supposed to laugh."

Your conversation has attracted one or two cats to peer out the window just enough to show their eyes. One of them is quite young (probably a kitten), but the other is a little older, and looks quite similar to...

"Thimble?" you say.

The eyes and ears vanish and you hear a swear.

"Thimble," you say sternly.

Slowly, she pokes her head back up, with a sheepish grin. "Hiii, Asterpaw...I was just, uh..."

You stare at her through half-lidded eyes, tail twitching.

She crawls over the window and slinks up to you, ears back. "Well, I just...I figured, you know, if you're...and...they told me about...um..."

"I'm gunna take a swipe in the dark," you say dryly. "Did you come over here to get instructions like Scat did, so if I didn't take you, you could still follow me?"

If it's possible, she looks even more sheepish. She half-crouches, her tail instinctively wrapping around her feet.

I continue,"Good thing I'm taking you." If Thimble is so determined, it's probably best if I'm able to keep an eye on her instead of having her sneak behind on her own. Besides, she is pretty good company.
