Da is a free site to use. As Cole stated we are still leaving the fc up, there will continue to be free adopts and correct me if I'm wrong but free breedings too. There might be a way to post a breeding thread here on cs that isn't oekaki for the staff to take on, or you can note me if Cole allows and I can post breedings for those who cannot go on da. This is still stuff we're trying to sort out.

No one is saying your makos will be useless or a part of the species no longer... They will remain makos, remain a part of the species, with chatting here in our fc still being ok. My chars have saved me numerous times and they're my lifeline with my depression too so I understand where you're coming from.

Note this is not a choice the staff made lightly, but with chrome and now fire Fox eventually not supporting java there's not much choice for us to move but to da.

As long as stuff on here stays active I'm OK with it although I must say I'm super sad that means no more impress me type forms I guess since you can't really code da comments heh...

Also I must give up my dreams of ever doing a guest artist design since I can't use photoshop lolllll but at least I did get to make that one for advent c:

I will personally look into setting up a website for makoatls to thrive on if people are interested in something like that. HOWEVER I cannot promise anything to be done quickly about it as as much as I love makoatls I'm still on vacation as well as busy with work. I've written 3 essays this week not including other work [last night I stayed up for over 12 hours writing papers] and I still owe art and I'm pretty much dying inside right now from overexertion.

We will look into sorting alternative sources for those who cannot use DA.
You may of course, use this fanclub, continue to roleplay here or on skype or wherever, and do whatever you normally do! Get art draw art, show art. All that. Right now we have to make a choice to get any work that's been finished put out since we are no longer welcome to post here with our finished products.

We did have a proboards, it didn't really work out because I couldn't stay active and keep things up to date and running.
If I can find a system and be able to delegate manageable workloads onto everyone I would be more than happy to try to go back to another forum site, but most of it comes down to maintenance and time that not everyone has to give as of the current standings QAQ

No one is saying you can't use your makoatls and do things with them, we just will not be putting out adopts on CS again.

We will be updating with breeding rules/etc on DA as soon as we can and you'll post there once everything is set up!
I too hope it won't die, and I intend to change the archiving system now that we've gotten a group account on DA for the staff. That way we can collectively post stash links to all the makos we can sort out and have it done.

ON THIS NOTE
The archives will again be going under construction so please refrain from posting too many changes.
I have a new idea that will potentially help things stay up to date and I hope to get this into gear as soon as possible!

@Uchuujin We'll try to figure out how to do contests there- Maybe making a thread here and linking -just have the main adopt on DA? or perhaps making a long form in a sta.sh journal and linking it ? We'll just have to get creative : D

AND we're still figuring out the breedings and growths- probably to a journal once we get it set up,we might do individual journals with slots or one master journal. We're scrambling a little to keep things going and work out the system which is why things are temporarily closed ;v;/

Even if the deviation is deleted- idk about the other staff but i always save an extra copy or two of every adopt/nursery/growth batch
We're doing what we can to make the move smooth and try to keep as active as possible here on CS as well as DA! Never fear we love you all and just want to make sure we're following the rules~

I think a proboards or some other website equivalent might work better than the last one did if other site-specific staff was hired not to design makos or anything but maybe to keep things active?

I used to be a mod on a different pet site and part of our job was to be involved in chat and run weekly or monthly games like trivia. Admittedly the chat there was already super active but you could try that? Like run contests or trivia nights or game nights with prizes? Prizes of maybe art or sand dollars or whatever else

And to post discussion questions and stuff? Things to get people developing their makos

I think the last website kinda failed cuz it was like "ok here's a site we made now you guys do what you want with it" rather than staff making an effort to keep it fun for mako owners. Like the staff themselves never really posted or tried to encourage people to use the site.

I did notice when I was involved in the JBD community that there was a period where their proboards site was pretty active but they always had staff posting topics

I mean I'm fine with the da move personally but I think if you wanted a more active proboards site that would def be a way to do it is to have like site staff or whatever

I would love to offer help if you guys (staff) are interested in creating a forum-like site! Trivia and games and such would be a great way to keep everyone active and prizes like SandDollars and art can be traded in in the store forum ;A;

I don't mind the move to DA, but a forum-like site would be awesome, maybe using forumotion as an alternative to proboards? The admin panel for it is pretty simple to use as well (Most of this post will only apply to forumotion because I pretty much only know stuff about that; I've never used proboards) They are pretty similar though, I'm not sure if there are any major differences. I agree with Uchuujin in possibly hiring staff to help around the site, and game nights could be held on the chatbox as well, and also maybe bother-the-staff-with-questions nights (I'm kidding)

a forum would be pretty good for keeping everything in one place, archives and the lot. People who want to keep their roleplays on the same site as everything else (not sure if there are any though) can create their own thread and whatnot
it would be easier to see which thread updated too

(and coding so there's still hope for tryout contests) I guess impress me tryouts could still be held, but my idea would be really impractical for the artists/judges as it constitutes off-site forms uwu
There's a point system in forumotion that can help keep track of SandDollars (the amount has to be manually changed in the admin panel though)

sorry I'm talking solely about forumotion and not something that's not outdated and obscure (in other words something people actually know about)

Its just difficult with a lot of the staff unavailable or too busy but we're totally happy for your input anyway~
We could hire other people- But we're a really closeknit group of staff-So we'd be a little skeptical of adding a bunch of new people just for a forum purpose-
Everyone on staff does everything, y'know?
We'll get back to you once we come to a decision though! If you have suggestions for websites or forum sites to consider please pm me/or squalo/ or someone else on staff who ISN'T on break and we'll bring them to the staff's attention! Cole,wolfy, and lambyrt are still on their breaks. That way we can respond to you and ask questions about the suggested site if we have any without spamming up the fanclub~
