You wait for him to continue. But it looks like he's done.
"That should be everything, I think," he says after a moment. "When do you plan to leave?"
"As soon as my debts are paid," you respond. "The day after tomorrow."
"We'll point the way to you in two days, then," he says cheerfully. "If I may be so bold, I suggest you leave during the night. Perhaps when the moon is highest in the sky. As it sets, that will give you something to measure your progress by."
"I'll take that into account," you say. You then go over the instructions once or twice, to make sure you have everything memorized. Once you're certain, you leave. Just as you jump out of the window, you hear cats purring and applauding the storyteller. You wish you had gotten to hear what it was.
As you're walking back across the street, Scat shakes himself all over again.
"So powerful," he murmurs.
You pause. "What?"
"Allof'em. Sopowerful." He looks up at you. His eyes seem shinier than usual. "Carrysomuchlifewith'em. Nearlyknocksmedowneverytime."
"I don't know what you mean," you say.
"That'sokay. Didn'texceptyouto." Scat continues his walk. You decide not to question him any further just yet.
To your surprise, that entire meeting took less than an hour. You have a lot of time left before you need to head back down and look for food again.
Hang out at Thimble's.
Tell Charlie you're leaving.
Look for food anyways.
