I like how the species are all recognizable creatures/characters, but all "humanoid," so that their interactions are similar to how humans normally interact in real life, versus having fire-breathing dragons and stuff like:
The dragon turned to the elf, his nostrils flaring angrily. "What did you just call me?!" He asked, his tail flicking menacingly. The elf shuddered and tried to apologize, but was instead burnt to a crisp in seconds from the dragon's angry breath."
I feel like if the characters were mixed between humanoid and animal-like, there would be too many overpowered roleplaying like this.
