"My name is Asterpaw," you say, standing as though you're speaking with a neighboring patrol. "I was taken from my home by the lake, and I need to get back. As far as I can tell, you're the one cat around here who would know anything about traveling. You must tell me what path I should take to get there."

Pretty Boy tilts his head just a little. "Where do you live?"

"In a Clan by the lake," you say. "There's a pine forest on one side, and then a crosshatch of streams and rivers, and then a more vibrant forest to the east. That side of the lake is all hilly, too."

He shakes his head sorrowfully. "I'm sorry. I'm afraid I've never been to a place like that."

Your heart sinks. "Hasn't...hasn't anyone else here?"

"None of us are travelers, little one," a massive white tom says. "We all were just on the way from another city to here, and we ended up following Mist."

"My journey was cut a little short," Pretty Boy continues. "I've only ever made it to three cities and a couple caravans."

"But wouldn't someone here-"

Scat jerks himself to a straight standing position. "Caravan."

You, Thimble and Pretty Boy all look at him.

"Caravan." He hunches his neck. "Caravancaravancaravancaravancaravan."

"You alright?" Thimble asks.

"Caravan." He turns his whole body to face you. "Caravan!" He looks over at Pretty Boy. "Caravan?"

Pretty Boy nods.

"Scat?" you say worriedly.

"Findacaravan." Scat looks at you again. His big yellow eyes are bulging. "Caravanwillhelpyou."

"There aren't many left," Pretty Boy says. "It's been a long time since the nomads were in full swing. But I know one's still standing, at least."
