I really love these beautiful animals, but they're nearly extinct. ;V; The saola's habitat is being destroyed to make way for buildings and fields, but poaching is also a major threat. Parts of them are used in traditional medicine and the meat is served in some restaurants and food markets. Discovered in 1992, their population is estimated to be about 200, maybe 250, but it could be anywhere from a few dozen to a few hundred. They are considered critically endangered.
