That sounds great Megaguirus!
And boy, I seem to have a lot in common with you too! I'm Homeschooled, go to church, like writing! Haha.

@Megaguirus

Haha, wow! I loved reading that even if some of it was copy/pasted. Most fiction isn't as realistic as this, but then, I've never read a book with griffins that are highly involved with the plot.

Lol, we seem to have quite a bit in common! It's actually pretty funny. Plus, it's nice to see a fellow Christ follower on the web...in a forum of all places. I guess it's not TOO uncommon, as christians make up about 1/3 of the world's population. (from what I've read...it might be wrong.)

Mostly, when I write, I let whatever I'm thinking flow onto the paper/screen...then I read it and realize "hey, this is pretty crappy....better fix it up." and then things will start to seem realistic. Most of my first drafts are SO unbelievable. XD

The first story I wrote was actually about a dragon...it was about 10 feet long and six feet high. I've never liked the dragons that were enormous much either. (excluding Saphira from the Eragon series....I love her).

My Church is one of the few places I can actually call "home" and enjoy life with people. People in the church have been there for me in my weakest moments, and always point me back to God when life gets hard.

Keep up the good work with your writing, I love the realism and excellence with which you write!

Okay guys, I need your advice. I've got three stories which I've started and would quite like to publish one day. The problem is, I'm not sure which one to use for NaNoWrMo. So I'll share them here, and see which one you like best.

The Land of Fire.
You may have seen this on writers haven, I accually started it there and liked the plot so much, I want to keep it. XD. Anyway, it's based in a world where dragons and flamebirds randomly flame villagers and town. And this guy called Tobas leaves his town when the village elders try to force a wife on him. He is helped by a traveller and meet up with the woman who was going to be his wife. They meet up with a woman called Kaylee, and she takes Tobas and Layla to her camp, telling Tobas that he's part of a prophesy to ride the land of dragons and flamebirds. They have lots of adventures, and there are loads of plot twists.

The twins trilogy.
Twin sisters Amy and Amalia's mother dies, and they find that two strange men leave them a house in a Will. They decide ti find the house, having nothing at their home. So, they leave and have lots of adventures, meeting a boy called Jim, and saving a wolf pup whom they call Flash. They make it to the town, Tree-vale, and find that the men who left them the house were thieves, Tom and Mark.
They settle in, and the town seer tells them of a prophesy that three pairs of twins would change their lives, but for good or ill? About the same time, they find a letter from Tim and Mark, telling them that they are the girls uncles, and also twins. They had left Tree-vale, but we're still alive some where. Amy and Amalia decided that they're the next pair of twins, but still don't know who the others are.
(They turn out to be dragons, and that all sorts of mythical animals and creatures are real. But that's in book three.)

Glaria's Glory.
Twelve year old Glaria's lives with her Grandfather. He reads her stories every evening, and they starts reading a book about their country, when dragons still lived.
They alread about how humans came to the world, and how a boy called Omar and a dragon called Flame bring peace between the dragons and humans. But then the slavers the humans where running from attack, and Omar is injured in the battle. Flame goes to find the last rainbow dragon, who heals Omar.
Soon after they read this, Glaria's grandfather is badly hurt in a cart crash. Glaria's decides to find the rainbow dragons and get him to heal her gandfathee. One of her friends, Luke, joins her.
They go on an adventure, and find the dragon's home. Turns out Glaria's mother, who left when she was young, accually lives there, and dragons are still alive.
So after lots of talking, Glaria's grandfather is healed, her mother returns, and the dragons come back.

Woo! Lots of writing.... They're all based in a fantisy land. Which one do you like best?

@Living_For_Jesus!

I like Glaria's Glory the best. I'm actually a bit intrigued to read it.

@Shadow Panther

Glad you found it interesting! Yeah, griffins aren't very common when it comes to being the lead in a story. Quite sad, actually. I mean, I love dragons, but griffins need more attention.

I'm actually surprised how many Christians and Homeschoolers there are, both in real life and the internet. I think homeschooling might be on the rise.

Haha, yeah, I actually find it hard to do that. Very rarely will you see me just go at it after having one single thought (happened once in recent memory, spent four hours writing down about nine pages of story without a single break. I felt superhuman, but I haven't had that happen again). Way too much planning goes into the story, to the point where some of it doesn't even get used! That happened quite a few times when I was writing my FNaF fanfic. There were conversations I intended to put in, but there was either no time (in-story time) or it was replaced with something better. Planning before writing is yet another one of my downfalls, and I've really been trying to fix it.

I think the biggest dragon I've ever created was the villain for my first novel who was maybe twenty feet high. I think more, but I don't remember. Then we have another half-dragon character of mine (who is actually a witch who can just turn into a dragon) and her dragon form is huge. So big that she can not only uproot trees and pull towers off of castles, but also hold a human like a small action figure. It actually surprised me once when I was looking at a drawing of her.

Must be nice to have a home church, I hope this one that we started going to two years ago becomes a permanent church. I've actually never had a home church, it seemed like every Sunday my parents would drag me and my siblings to another church. It got to a point where I called it "church hunting". Yeah, my parents have had bad church experiences in the past, so they've become picky.

Thanks! Hey, since I'm planning on posting the first chapter of the novel tonight, let me show you the summary that I just jotted down. I'm not very good at summaries, though.
The Story of Dante wrote:For centuries, griffins and dragons have been at odds with each other. To where it's gotten to a point where both are near extinction and living separate lives in the same island, hoping to never cross paths with each other.
An old dragon legend tells about this great golden dragon who was part griffin, and how he brought the two warring species together. Once he was dead, the island fell back into chaos, but not without a few dragons hoping that one day The Great One, Dante, would return.
Turns out The Great One does return, but not by reincarnation. One orphaned griffin just so happens to not only be named after The Great One, but grows up to be part dragon. Now thrust in-between two warring sides, Dante must take the burden that his parents laid on him and bring griffins and dragons back together. Which is easier said than done.

Griffons are pretty cool, but in my story they end up being really bad, since I needed something to end the dragon wars, which wasn't happening without someone else to fight.
Wow.
Does anyone realize that almost every story with dragons and humans ends up also having huge wars?

@Living_For_Jesus!

I like the last two the best. :3

@Megaguirus

It's not bad to plan! There are two types of writers. The planners, and the pansters. The planners like to plan before they write, and once they have everything(or almost everything) planned out, they start writing.Their downfall is that sometimes they over analyze and take a long time to start writing. Pansters write on the fly, jotting down whatever happens to pass through their brains. Their downfall is that the first draft is SUPER jumbled and scrambled thoughts, and needs much more fixing than that of a planner's first draft. It just happens that we're different types of writers. :)

And I get you. My family's done "church shopping" but mostly cause we move a lot. Ever since I was six, I've never stayed in the same house for more than two years before we moved again.That was until we moved to where we are now, which we've lived for three years now. This is the first time I've ever had a home church. I'm sure you'll find yours!

I think you did a good job on the summery. It made ME interested. Keep me posted! :D

@Shadow Panther

Oh, I didn't know there were actually types, I just thought that was me XD. Then I might just stick to my usual style of planning before writing.

Wow, I'm glad that where I'm living now is only the second place I remember living. There were some, maybe one or two, but I was three years old or younger, so heck if I remember XD.

Thanks! Well, if you're interested in reading it, the first chapter is up on CS! I'll link it below.

@Megaguirus

You don't give yourself enough credit! That writing was great! Haha, it's much better than my first drafts, that's for sure. As for the types of writers, check out this link for more info on it. Everyone has a different method, but usually writer's can be separated as planners or pansters.

The first chapter of your story was great! I really hope you continue on with it, cause you have made me want to read more. I especially liked learning about the stages of development, and the way you subtly put in the fact that dragons and griffins are enemies without going into much detail was a good move. Keep it up!
