Mistleaf

A sharp wave of pain rolled through her body. She heard Shinestar whispering, "You'll be fine... Think of our kits!" She grunted and raised her head as the pain abruptly stopped.

Shinestar

"It's a tom!" he whispers softly. "He looks just like you..."

Mistleaf

*nuzzles Shinestar happily* "He's so beauti- Oh!" Her words ended in a high-pitched yowl as pain gripped her body again.

Cloudpool

"The second one's coming. I think there's one left. But they seem small..."

"What do you mean?"

Mistleaf

A wave of pain almost unbearable rolls through Mistleaf. She tenses, and tries to relax. She waits for the break in between contractions to take a breath, but it never comes.

Cloudpool

"Push harder, Mistleaf. I know you can do it." she whispers fiercely to Mistleaf

Mistleaf

Another wave of pain rolls fiercely through her body. She clamps down on the stick, and breathes through her nose. "This is going to hurt, just bite on the stick then." she hears Cloudpool say. Then Cloudpool leans on her belly with a force that makes her shriek in protest. With a lurch, her second kit is born. She lays her head down and closes her eyes, ready to give up.

"Mistleaf.. Mistleaf stay strong... There's one more to be born!"

"I can't..." This time the kit slipped out easily, smaller than each of her littermates.
