Also, has anyone really understood the 'racism' issue with Jinx? I understand the joke saying black women have big lips is racist, but here's something nobody takes into account. Jinx has blonde hair, have you ever seen any black girl who has blonde hair? If you want to talk about Pokemon who are racist, Ludicolo is a perfect example, its carefree attitude, the way it dances to salsa music, and more than anything, the way it's wearing a sombrero made out of a lily pad. Ludicolo is way more racist towards Mexicans than Jinx is towards blacks. But that's my opinion, I just don't think Jinx is really that much of a Pokemon that looks racist. I do admit that I prefer purple Jinx to black Jinx though.
As far as I know Jinx is based on Yamauba, a japanes demon who looks like that so it doesn't have anything to do with black women. I also saw people in another anime dressing that way to look like a Yamauba (dark skin, makeup, high heels and blond hair) so I guess it's also a fashion style somehow. They changed the skin colour because of the critic, but the design is pretty obvious a Yamauba.
Ludicolo is based on many different things (Kappa, Pineapple, Sombrero and Poncho) and it dances so it's a bit mexican, but it doesn't really represent Mexico or anything. Only a design idea that's supposed to look funny.
If Ludicolo is racist, than Psyduck is kinda insulting to ducks (they get portrayed as stupid), or Mr. Mime portrays all mimes as clowns, Snorlax discriminating overweight people as lazy or Miltank discriminating woman or something else - you see what you want to see. In Hetalia the characters are at least directly linked to a group of people so I can understand the protest more.
I don't mind random topics and questions at all, it's not like we have a main topic or anything afterall.
I think everyone mostly posts random stuff or answers random stuff that just has to do with pokemon somehow, that's how the thread works kinda.
