He couldn't quite see past the canopy of towering trees, however, and instead his eyes among the sky while he came to a trot, determined to spot the large bird. Eventually though, as it would turn out, without watching where he was walking he'd sped off trail accidentally, and had been startled to find that his front paws were submerged in freezing waters.
He'd practically hopped out, twisting around to escape the cold water's clutches, his hunt for the goose abandoned, it's honking now distant. Pim hung his head and caught glimpse of his front paws, now mucked up by the shallow mud surrounding the stream, his front paws asymmetrical from his back paws. This irked him. He found it ironic how later he'd have to enter the shallow pools once more just to rid himself of the rancid filth. His mind went blank with instinct as his ears perked to the sound of leaves being scattered, barely audible, came to his full attention.
Pim craned his neck, diverting his sight left and right to seek the source of the disturbance to the forest's (nearly eerie) silence. His conscious was soon calmed though, as a familiar canine came into view only a few yards up stream. Koda, an exceptionally pleasant, albeit serious, fellow scout. His feelings on the dog are mixed, although nothing is set in stone, their meetings together so far have been brief and nothing to really dwell on.
He found his presence calming nonetheless, and welcomed him accordingly, his curled tail gaining a slow wag and his mouth slightly ajar in a display of subtle relief. He'd honestly believed it would have been a much larger creature stalking about
"Hello there, Koda! So nice to see you, especially so early. I didn't see much of anyone this morning so I thought I'd take a stroll..." He'd taken in a more detailed inspection of the tan scout, and could see that Koda's lower half was completely drenched, not to mention his muzzle.
"... I see that you've taken a... swim? I'm not too fond of entering the waters, especially not when colder weather is so close by-"
Pim had stopped abruptly, jaw clamping, to prevent any further confessional rant on how finicky he was about natural things. He opened his mouth again, once seeing the smudged spots of pink on Koda's jaw
"Catch anything while you were out there?"
