The apprentice shook her head. "You're fine. I should have heard you coming up." the tabby replied, before changing the subject. "Are we going to go training today?" she asked curiously.

Sitting up, EbonyHeart padded over to the two cats. "Alright. How are you two?" she asked, sitting down next to MudKit.

He led Leafpaw through the bushes to the thick patch of undergrowth. Even as they entered, he could hear the soft scurrying of mice. It sounded as though they were everywhere.
"Ok, now pay attention." he said, his voice dropping to a whisper. "There are mice everywhere here, but don't let that make you think that it's easy. You'll have to learn how to brush up against all of this undergrowth without alerting them. Do you think you can do it?"

Looking around, he could not see Jayshadow. Perfect. "Would you mind helping me gather some herbs?" he asked. "I promise it will be worth your while; you'll have an advantage over the other apprentices if you know about herbs."

Rainstar awakens from a nap she was in the middle of, hearing pawsteps. She leaps up, tail lashing back and forth. /Oh, it was just Ebonyheart./ She thought, looking at Mudkit. The kit would be apprenticed soon.

Mudkit smiles, meowing, "We are! How about you?" His eyes widen curiously, and he cocks his head. He blinks, still looking at Ebonyheart.

"Oh, um, sure! I think JayShadow went out without me, anyway." Chestnutpaw agreed, standing up to join the dark furred tom.

He smiled, and started to pad out of the camp. "Excellent! I really do appreciate the help." he told the apprentice, a sincere tone in his voice. "We're looking for two kinds of herbs; tansy, which grows by the lake, and daisy leaves, which we'll find in the plains." he explained.

"I think so," Leafpaw whispered back. To be honest, Leaf wasn't really sure.

Daisy.
Daisyheart smiled. " I believe so, and I think we will go hunting," she mrowed.

Mudkit nods slowly, "You'll be able to in a few moons. By then I'll be an apprentice." He mews, looking at the queen.

He could sense uncertainty in the apprentice's voice, so tried to reassure him. "You'll do fine, don't worry." he said. "Now, let's see what you can do." He watched Leafpaw with great interest, eager to see what progress he would make.

ChestnutPaw nodded, trying to remember the names. "Tansy... and Daisy... Got it!" He mewed happily, following after CrowWhisker.

"Alright. Thank you for letting me know!" RosePaw replied kindly, flicking her tail. "Um... Will I have time to eat something before we go?" she added quietly, realizing how hungry she was.

"It'll be a while. I won't leave until my kits are 4 or 5 moons old, and since they aren't even born yet, it might take a bit of time." She sighed, watching ChestnutPaw and CrowWhisker head out of camp. "Maybe I could help CrowWhisker until then. It'll give me SOMETHING to do." she mewed.

He nodded, giving the apprentice some time to memorize them. "Now, do you know how to recognize those two?" he asked, leading the apprentice down to the shores of the lake. The weather now was nice, if a little hot, but a cool breeze flowed over the lake from the waterfall and onto the two cats. He raised his head slightly, letting it flow through his fur. It brought back memories of his own apprenticeship, when he himself had to learn about daisy leaves and tansy. So much had changed since then.
