@Willowewolf - Good luck with NaNo! Personally I like 'Phoenix RIsing' better, but I do agree with FiveSecondsToFLy on the point that it sound kind of similar to a few other books. Perhaps try combine the two like they said, or perhaps try something like 'From the Ashes' and include certain elements or references from the two titles that you like best. Though in the end, I'd say go with the one you like most or the one that fits your story best.

I'm entering NaNoWriMo this year (even though it isn't here for two more months oh god why i am i doing this to myself) and I'm playing with a few concepts here. So far I've narrowed it down to three help me
-A teen girl, Sam/Sammy, is walking her dog (who she doesn't get along with) and accidentally drops the leash. The dog runs into the bushes and upon running into the bushes after the it, Sam and the dog get transported into the world of FAE, the land of the faeries and other fae folk. She then has to keep herself and the dog safe while trying to find her way home. Along the way, she meets a few interesting characters, including a human boy Kipper 'Kit' Sanchez and his faerie friend, Natalyia, who are determined to help her get home. She has to hurry, however, as humans can't eat anything from FAE or else they end up stuck there.
-Wesson Duelle, born Maximilian Dutch, is a supernatural hunter living in New Orleans. After returning to his thankfully only minorly damaged apartment in the French quarter, he's doing his best to help his city pick up the pieces after hurricane Katrina. Things are going fairly smoothly until he begins to notice more and more supernatural creatures flocking to the city. Unable to contact his friends or other hunters, it's up to Wesson to find out why there is a sudden influx of supernatural and do his best to stop it and save as many innocents as he can. Along the way, maybe he'll learn that not all supernatural creatures are as awful as he thinks, and that humans can sometimes be more vicious than any monster.
-Now that Runefell has finally settled down after the war, and Loki and Fiona think they can finally relax and lead a semi-normal life. However, everything is turned upside when the King of Carmagelian Aryka, their close friend, disappears. Suspecting a kidnapping, Loki, Fiona and their friends Neero and Jormund are investigating Aryka's quarters when they are swept up in an unstable rift and deposited on Earth. Picking up traces of their friend, they end up chasing a mysterious sorcerer through the streets of Victorian London. When they sense much darker forces than a petty sorcerer at work, their mission becomes even more urgent - find Aryka. Get home.
Whoah, sorry this turned out so long - which one of these does everyone like better? I'd love to hear some opinions and thoughts on the matter <3
