Name: Serenity
Gender: agender, uses whatever pronouns
Personality: Serenity doesn't seem menacing, certainly not to the degree that would merit the wariness others feel around them; and yet... It's very difficult to tell what they might at any point be thinking, but they seem to maintain a quiet amusement in others' wariness, and incline more toward observing than intervening. Occasionally, though, they will step in out of concealed frustration to present an obvious answer that has not yet been reached. They rarely seek out company, and are perfectly content in standing and watching the forest's small deep movements for hours on end, but acknowledge, if ruefully, that most of the excitement in their life comes from these occasional visitors.
In short: nobody knows very much at all about them, and they have almost convinced themselves that this is exactly how they like it.
Power: clear water seeps steadily from their paws, pooling where they step; pause for too long, and they'll be ankle-deep in no time, necessitating an outdoor, transitory life. plants under this water seem to flourish rather than wilt, at least for a while. the reflections in the water aren't always quite what they should be.
Extras: [sorry they're so huge] [art goes to whoever wins obvs] [do tell me if these aren't showing up!]
fireflies light up odd fleeting fragments of birch bark at night, bobbing between the monochrome trunks. their roots, hidden, steadily pull the water from the leaf-paved earth. the ripples the paws make in the pool pull the pale stripes of the trees together and apart in the reflection, smudged like fingers through paint.
their reflection is perfectly normal when you look at it, really. it's just out of the corner of your eye, in half-caught glimpses, sight-snippets, that something seems odd. it's probably nothing. still, every now and then when looking at them you blink, expecting instead of the familiar mossed horns and distant eyes something else, something... other.[I couldn't for the life of me find a gif of the kind of small-scale verdant grass underwater that I wanted! So have a selection of not-quite-right pictures, sorry:]

the grass under the water is more green than out of it, waving lazily in invisible currents. any flowers that open are silvered with a sheen of trapped air and the reflected gleam behind the bloom makes the petals glow softly, as if from within.
