Indestructible

Postby The Lost soul » Tue Sep 15, 2015 1:40 pm

Oriikae guardians are known for their tenacity, fearlessness and often inhuman ability to withstand pain without reacting. One rumor is that you can light them on fire and they simply not care. This is only true if they are focused on something else or fighting. Other times they'll put the fire out(obviously). Once they start a fight, it almost impossible to dissuade them unless they are dead, drugged, or incapacitated.

Song: Indestructible by Disturbed
(Shouldn't be offensive or explicit, I checked the lyrics... should be fine. The comment's section is empty too.)

I hate having indestructible characters... it's like god-modding. I prefer losing anyways... it's getting boring to rp fights with this super-soldier. Seriously, a complete and total unfair advantage. That's no fun. What good is a fight if you're guaranteed to win? There's no struggle or growth... you're just beating up some poor unfortunate souls.

Saving it was getting very sluggish and I think I was killing the memory. The bottom right number thing was red... probably not good.
That, and I wanted a wider audience to critique it. Anatomy, fire, lighting, everything needs to be critiqued. I might fix up the fire on that back shoulder. It looks too scratchy...
Okamorei helped me out a good deal with their advice. Just a shout-out...
Anyways, critique is welcomed.

hey there, I'm prixie. I'm pretty much a loser who you
should avoid at all costs. I'm half asleep most of the time,
and I am the owner of, at best, 1/4 cup of talent. I live and
breathe puns. I apologize in advance for my behavior.

this is amazing omg
its a great song too ovo
and i feel the same way about indestructible characters, though i do still have quite a few of them even if by accident, though at the same time i also try to make characters who are weaker/more normal and not just indestructible
i mean wheres the fun in a life or death scenario or fight or what have you when you know your character can't be killed?
though sometimes it's much more fun to completely incapacitate them and then have them have to deal with their injuries while they recover
and yes i agree this needs a feature omg

they/them
unfortunately almost entirely quit, this site just doesn't spark joy for me anymore. (no my stuff is not available. if it was i would've made a thread for it)
occasionally log back on to search for references or old posts for character information, but not much more
i'm on toyhou.se @corrosive_limes if you want to credit me for a design / art that you have
my discord is also corrosive_limes if you really really need me for something

Thanks!
I doubt a feature... but thanks for the confidence!

Yeah, I love beating up my charries, but I over-used one of them and they're bout ready to keel over. They can only take so much...
Ahri isn't fun anymore, but she is very useful. Love her to death, but she's really a tough cookie.

If you spot any mistakes, just tell me and I'll see what I can do about it. ^u^

She looks a little to manly to be female, in my opinion (If I remember right, that's what gender you gave your plumie, sorry if I am wrong. {I stalk you art} :) ) I know females can be powerfully muscled as well, but it could look a bit more feminine. The neck looks a little too big, and the shoulders are a little too sloped to be a girl. (Again, I may be wrong about the gender. In that case, disregard this)
Otherwise, it looks amazing! the fire is beautiful :)

It's fine! That's the point. Ahri is not feminine in any way. Unlike standard females in society, Ahri and her family have a very ambiguous sexual dimorphism. They all look like men(to most), or just... lack any identifying features. They are bred, trained, and dressed all the same. Heh... it's confusing, sorry, but yes, she is meant to look manly. It's matter of intimidation through masculinity and all that. Oriikae women don't look like standard woman... they have the basic features and requirements, but their form and all that is a bit askew. I tried making her waist a bit smaller, but it didn't fit the Oriikae family breed.
I should really specify with Ahri, heh... my bad. Maybe I should make an Orrikae-normal comparison? Might help with the biological differences. They are their own race of people, so I guess they deserve to be recognized as such...
That's my fault. Um... I'll try and work on better information for people to use as rubrics for grading my work. Sorry!

I'm just ecstatic that the fire looks good. Fire is so tricky...
Do the clothes and lighting at least look good? or did I do something wrong in there? I can fix it if I've done something funky...

The lighting looks great, actually, and the clothing looks very realistic :) And thank you for specifying the masculinity vs. feminine thing, that makes a great deal more sense now.

Thanks! I am glad the explanation fit.

If you see anything else in there that I have done improperly, please notify me. The shoulder, I thin, is still low, but I'll have to work on perspective-based anatomy later to figure out the proper alignment.

Regardless, thank you all for your feedback and compliments!
