When you find a new pet to hoard, do you put them in their own group as soon as you start the hoard,
or do you put them all in a big group with other pets until you find the time to sort them?

It honestly depends on the hoard. xD Most of the time they go in this big group here: http://www.chickensmoothie.com/accounts ... rid=420519 until I get about half of what my goal is for that hoard. I find that it motivates me to finish it more if I see the larger number in its own group ^_^

However, if its a pet I just started hoarding and I really like it I may try to start a group really quickly and start to gather them as quickly as I can.

Im glad im not the only one with abhoard holding group with over 1000 pets lol

Anytime a trade involves my hoard pets i move them to my Unsorted Hoards group until i get enough of them to move them to their grouo/create a group

Most of the time my hoards are named and sent right to appropriate groups.
Sometimes, however, I'll just find myself drawn to certain litters or outcomes and randomly collect them over time.
These go into a large unsorted group.
Once in a while I'll go through this group and if I still like them I'll sort them. If I don't have an idea for a hoard name they'll stay in the unsorted group till I'm inspired by something.
If I don't like them anymore, off to the trade groups they go...

I'm gonna cry.

I've been sending out trades for my hoard pets ALL DAY and maybe had 4 successful transactions.
And only about half of the trades are these new dragon things.
A good deal of them are hoard pets for hoards I've been trying to complete for the last year.
Hoards I created the day the pet came out, and I maybe only have 30 or so.
Hoards I've sent 30 trades at a time for.
Hoards I've spent almost all my fodder trying to finish.

My patience for all this is getting VERY thin.

Please tell me I'm not the only one here who has days like this.

I hoard rats in general, but I've been getting enough of the crop rats and this month's rats (both litters which I adore) that I've been contemplating moving them into their own hoards xD

Many are holding onto their spares right now, because we all don't know how the adult stage looks like.
What you describe is just... normal trade behaviour.

And then there is also the amount of people who doesn't even trade w/o rarities.

Sounds like most of the eggs who could be traded are off the market by now.

Why do you hoard them?

Most of the pets I hoard because I instantly like one or more of the outcomes for an event or litter. Sometimes I lose interest in the pets and I will break the hoard up. Each item hoard has it's own story. The ducklings I hoard because there are still no ducks on CS. It's only a matter of time before there are some though, so I will still hoard ducklings even after then. The syringes I hoard because I thought they made a pretty awesome item, and because I'm pretty terrified of syringes too. The animal stickers I hoard simply because of their unique situation and because they look like tiny versions of the pets. The pink leopard animal egg kept showing up in the banner for me, so I just decided to hoard that one in particular. The tennis balls were my first item hoard. I wanted something simple and easy to get, so I went with one of the free store items. Another simple item I hoard are the kite strings. It actually started when someone tried to trade for my Daruma eye (

) and it made me wonder, why just the eye? I wanted something as unusual, so the kite strings were picked. The Asian dragon push hoard is simply because I hoard the pet, might as well hoard the item it's based off of. The rest of the items I hoard are simply because I really like them, or if they're still on my wishlist, I just want more.

How large is your hoard?

Most pet hoards are 50, some get to 100 or 150. There are three that I have that are infinite as well. Item hoards are infinite with the exception of the 2015 animal eggs, which ended around the event.

What is your goal for the hoard?

My infinite goals are simply to keep collecting. For the ones I have finished or are incomplete, sometimes the idea behind them changes and I may remove pets from them. My orange and star hoard both have seen changes.

Do you overpay for hoard pets/items?

I have, and I still will. I try to stay reasonable, but sometimes I just want something badly. In the event of the Asian dragon hoard, I really try my best to trade for them since I rarely see any for trade anymore.

What was the first pet/item in your hoard?

Pet's name: Hoytus

This was my first hoard and his was the first pet in it. I had put the image of the pet in my signature and not long after I had, I had gotten a trade for one, here. Before I could remove the image from my signature, someone had sent me my second one as a gift. I made sure if they were okay with it and so ended up with Hoytus. I had only wanted one of each pet, so an extra threw a wrench into the idea, but I still wanted my second one...so I decided to make my first hoard. Since then the pet has become uncommon and much harder to find, but the hoard is one I don't have a set goal for and never will.

My first item hoard was my tennis ball hoard. It is still my most populous hoard and I still get excited for each one I get.

That was my day yesterday almost exactly.
I started my first hoard, and I started 5 days ago.

I have only 12 pets.

The one good thing about this is sometimes you go to sleep, wake up in the morning and have loads of accepted trades and pets waiting to be grouped c:

Wow, how have I not seen such a lovely thread until now? Hey guys! I'm Aralas and I hoard UR Grapes, Dragon PPS, Eat Me Dogs, and Drink Me Dogs! I haven't been very active with these hoards in the past few years because of my inactivity on CS, but I'm back and ready to add some numbers to my groups. Unfortunately, it looks like these have even crazier demand than when I was trading for them before. x.x

Anyway, it's really nice to meet you all! The hoards people have here are incredible.
