Friday Lupine:
She listned as they spoke, thinking hard about it. When thorne brought up the rumors however, she seemed to pale and Icarus glared. She too knew the rumors about the affects regenerating could have and she hoped with everything in her that her brother hadn't ended up like that. She ran a calming hand over Icarus' back causing him to settle but his golden eyes never left thorne. She nodded at Kuro in gratitude. "That's all I can ask." She said tiredly sighing before giving the two a smile that looked more like a grimace. "If you do find anything, please just wistle. Icarus can find you that way."

Silver Shadows:
He smiled almost as wide as a child on christmas as he nervously set a hand on the wolf like beasts head. "That's a rather long time." He said to Virva, his attention on Cuàn. "It's a pleasure to meet you Cuán." He said, greeting it as he would a human. He tirned back to Virva. "You must be very strong to have a beast such as him. Of xourse I'd expect no less from the leader of the valkyries." He added the last part quickly, not wanting to offend her. As he returned his f ocus to her he had a nostalgic smile on her face. "A long time ago I was an animal tamer. Then my partner died and I didn't have it in me. We finished one last quest together though." His hand returned to the hilt of the sword in his belt. "The quest that gained me this blade."

Watching as Silver's smile widened into one akin to a childs Virva couldn't help but smile along with him, something about his smile was infectious. Leaving her hand on Cuàns' neck Virva watched carefully as Silver reached out cautiously to place his hand on her friends head. "That's a rather long time." he remarked, "It's a pleasure to meet you Cuán." he greeted Cuàn with a smile. Burying her hand in the fur of her friends neck Virva nodded in response to his remark, yes it was a long time but she felt that it was common sense to try and preserve her friend for as long as possible. "You must be very strong to have a beast such as him. Of course I'd expect no less from the leader of the valkyries." he said adding the last part quickly.
Virva's mouth twitched into a smile "Thank you, but truthfully I wouldn't say I'm that strong...Espella is the strongest of our guild." she said softly fixing her blue eyes onto the ground. The truth of her statement couldn't be denied she was just the face and management of the guild (in Virva's view) Espella was the strong one, she was the assassin and the dragon slayer.
A nostalgic expression crossing his face Silver stared fixedly at Cuàn "A long time ago I was an animal tamer. Then my partner died and I didn't have it in me. We finished one last quest together though." he told her putting a hand on the hilt of his sword, "The quest that gained me this blade."
Her eyes falling to the blade Virva's eyes widened as she recognized the blade as one of the gods weapons, so that was his subclass; sword saint. "That's amazing!" she exclaimed smiling "Do you mind if I ask which god lost their weapon to you?" she asked. Her attention was suddenly pulled away as some of the guild leaders began arguing loudly. Standing Virva realized that they were arguing about who would volunteer to go to 'The Forest of the Lost Dungeon' and complete the goblin king quest, apparently no one was willing each one arguing why they couldn't volunteer themselves or anyone from their guild. "cowards..." Virva muttered shaking her head.

It was obvious that Espellla had caught him off guard with her explanation of why she had decided to speak with him. Anyone, even if they were socially adept, could have picked up on the surprise written across his face. It was ingrained right down to the little creases on his forhead when his eyebrows raised themselves after she spoke. "Ah. I often do." Though the healing class mode of dress normally stood out in a crowd, this adventurer seemed to be more comfortable in his garb than the other healers she had met. Most of them were self-concious and worried that they could never leave the guild hall or their homes out fear that they would get swarmed with requests. Perhaps he had become more accustomed due to the amount of time they had been here, or perhaps he just didn't care. She realized that although Espella had given her name, she hadn't received his in return. "I'm sorry, I think I missed your name." Before she could receive an answer however, a commotion broke out from within the cluster of guild leaders. Fragments of their heated conversation flew through the air like bullets, the mens' voices getting louder and more carried away with each heated response. They were each spouting out excuses as to why their guild would be unable to take the Goblin King quest. From what Espella could tell, most of their reasons were hastily invented on the spot. Their voicees betrayed the precious few moments it took for them to think up another excuse as to why they couldn't take part in the mission. "The maturity of some of these guild leaders astounds me.' Espella growled under her breath as her ears flicked in irritation. The sarcastic emphasis in her voice along with her constantly moving ears were the only signs that his childish display was something that did not impress the second in command. She knew one of the guild leaders as well. She had met him on several occasions at other guild leader summits and some raids long in the past. Was there no other way of saying that you couldn't take part other than yelling and making a scene? The guilds were not only a place for adventurers to make friends and new family, but they were also there as a symbol to the other players who didn't join and the People of the Land who used to ask for their help when a there was a problem that effected their village or town. Such a pathetic and embarrassing argument could only be seen as a sign of fear to those outside of the guilds. This was in fact true. Since the rumours of adventurers dying and not being revived in the cathedrals has taken a stranglehold on every single player. Now no one wants to take on quests where that was even a shadow of a doubt that they could die. It was just pathetic. In the past, Espella had shown her quite absent skills of negotiation when those she was speaking to irritated or angered her. This ball was certainly in Virva's court. Between the two of them, the Virva was far more diplomatic and socially adept than Espella. One of the biggest reasons her best friend was the leader and Espella was the second in command.

Kuro gave the girl a nod showing that he understood. He then turned to start to leave. The area was starting to get quite... Loud, rambunctious. Kuro look back to find his brother Thorne still standing by the girl they had just been talking to. "I hope you find your brother soon." he spoke quietly to the girl. Instantly Kuro knew why he was being so quite. The twins never liked being apart from one another and Kuro guessed that Thorne was picturing himself in the girls shoes. If he had lost Kuro. Kuro loved his brother for they were they only family they had. So he waited for Thorne as he walked away from the girl and joined Kuro by his side. They walked around observering people. Well Kuro was, Thorne was just looking at the weapons everyone had and the food. Kuro spotted some high level people talking with one another. He saw a girl talking to a guy dressed up weirdly. However kuro wasn't judging him. He was actually interested in what he was wearing. He had a mask and was almost dressed in a way that a healing class would be. Kuro was even more interested because he too was a healing class. However Kuro was thinking the man was more of a healing class that did a lot of offense and defense. Kuro is the exact opposite, he does a whole lot of defense and very little offense. Needless to say he was glad that he wasn't going to be the only one getting bombarded with guilds. Once Kuro looked past those two talking he spotted some even higher up levels talking. Kuro is level 90 so he was pretty powerful, but he wasn't part of a guild or anything. However, the guy that he saw was jaw dropping. He just radiated powerful energy. He was even carrying a sword that Kuro instantly knew was special. Now Kuro was interested and so did Thorne. "He has an awesome sword!" Thorne said to Kuro like a little kid were to say to their parent. Kuro nodded, "Yes Thorne. He does. He seems to be a guild leader... I wonder what guild..." Kuro said to his brother, but the last part was just him thinking out loud. Yet both twin's attention turned to the new quest. The goblin king. Kuro and Thorne both remembered that event. It was something they have both done before. However people were getting way too heating on this event. Sure it was the goblin king but there is no reason to start yelling about it. It made Kuro a little agitated.

Friday Lupine:
She was a bit suprised at thorne's words and smiled tiredly at him. "Thank you." She said softly and watching as he walked away. Sighing when he left her sight she turned to Icarus... only to see he wasn't there. "Icarus! Where'd you go?!" She called trying to push through the people only to see Icarus toddling towards a large wolf beast (Cuán). She groaned at the baby griffon and began to walk over. She knew he was probably curious. Even she was a bit. She hasn't seen a beast like that since she left the forest. Surely he was partners to a high leveled tamer.

Silver Shadows:
He chuckled at Virvas modesty. "Not all strength comes from a sword you know." He said wisely. He listned and smiled when she asked about his sword. Unsceathing the blade he watched as it shimmered with an almost blue like glow. "I don't mind at all. This is the blade of Athena." He smile twitched as he remembered the battle to gain it. "She certainly didn't want to give it up either." Then his attention turned when he heard yelling and he scowled. He gave a quick glance at virva. "If you'll excuse me for a monent." He said before storming over towards the arguing guild leaders. Smiling almost dangerously he put his hand on ones shoulder to gain their attention. "Now there's certainly no reason to fight about this, is there? We all came here for this reason, no? If none of you wish to go then don't. We have no room for spineless cowarda on the battlefield." He added the last part rather sharply.

Kyo Sasaki
15
Foxtail
Kannagi
Alchemist
Tags; Espella

Kyo heard Espella ask for his name but she was soon distracted by a commotion nearby. He turned as well, a frown painted on is face and eyes and brows narrowed once more. He caught protests and claims about a recent quest, and silently agreed on Espella's next statement. Verrry mature of them. The kannagi let out a small breath and decided to answer her first question. "Kyo. My name is Kyo." he told her calmly, face unchanging. He recognized a few of the quarrelsome people, however the young man hadn't met any in person.

Taro Fuji

Elf
Guardian
Tracker
Tags; Open

Taro had woken up late-not that his rising time really mattered to him all that much. The day started out like any other in the land of (..oops I forgot the one city's name, I know it started with a Q though), his usual grin on his pale face, walking around in search of companionship. 'Shame on you, Taro!' he scolded himself but didn't take it to heart. 'Its been days since the apocalypse and yet you haven't found a single friend!' the young man continued smiling. "Much less a guild." he finished out loud, voice tender. He really wanted to get out and explore with some hearty people, to him the battles were great fun. His thick and heavy armor clanked as he walked along, ever reminding him of his role as a guardian.

Liin Niijan
13/Appears 17
Race of Ritual
Assassin
Chef
Tags; Open

Liin was out 'n' about just outside of Vraadon, cold eyes scanning their surroundings. Their hand was clutching a long dagger tightly as they crept through the overgrown outskirts. Liin was merely looking for some low-level monsters to practice on, not having any real plans for the day. They hadn't really done anything truly productive since the Apocalypse until today, so Liin was merely trying out some things. Although the Assassin had mostly stayed in the city, they hadn't come upon any adventurers that they thought were worth teaming up with. A guild seemed too large at the moment, maybe one or two players about Liin's level or higher and they'd be satisfied. The adventurer continued the silent trek, not making a single noise.

Re: pioneers of the new reality

The crowd around the gaggle of guild leaders and second-in-commands quickly filled the small park. Ashirah was glad she found this meeting early; she earned her place in the front. It had it's downsides, though; a shove from the far back almost knocked her into the guy next to her. She was met with a milk white face and painted black eyes staring directly into her.

Holy...! What the heck is that!? A mask? No one wears masks like that anymore!

The painted eyes narrowed: all three of them. It-he?-disappeared into the crowd. The meeting had begun.

As Ashirah expected, this was an outdoors meeting for a reason. The guild master of the largest guild on the North American server started, welcoming every guild and every onlooker. They quickly announced their reasons for inviting so many. One of their strategists has counted the days since the last "Return of the Goblin King" quest, the annual quest that takes place on every server. It lasts one full week, giving players time to gear up and take on the Goblin King before his coronation. When Elder Tale was a game, the full raid was high level, but not the maximum level of 90. This allowed many players to come together and enjoy real raid that promised phantasm level gear. Nearly every year, the Goblin King was defeated before he could be crowned. Ashirah remembered one year he wasn't. It was her first year, and she was barely level 20. She did not feel the effects of the event, but she remembered a lot of high level players complaining about the large amounts of goblins in areas they usually did not spawn. There were new quests too: defending the smaller villages, guarding the People of the Land, investigating pillaged farms...

When this was a game, the cooronation was nothing to fear. But now...This was serious business. The guild master of the largest North American guild fell silent and let their speech fester. They had listed many of Ashirah's fears. After a very pregnant pause, they announced they would be sending their top players. The crowd of other guilds seemed to all jump at once and share looks with their second in commands.

"Er...we're a crafting guild, not a combat guild..."

"This is a full raid quest. Leave it to the raid guilds..."

"Our guild has no concern for the People of the Land. They are NPCs incapable of suffering. My guild does not wish to get involved."

Of course. They're afraid, afraid of death, afraid of dungeons, of raids, of the unknown. Cowards. Ashirah thought. But...I am afraid too, of all those things. I...

Another player from the crowd had stepped up and held onto one of the cowardly guild leaders shoulder. Ashirah barely registered him as she stepped forward, "I'll go."

The words fell out of her mouth with no input from her brain, "I shall go. I am a holy monk of the Sun. Sol teaches me to let no emotion overwhelm, especially fear. I am afraid, but I will not let fear prevent me from fulfilling my duty. As a monk, it is my duty to protect the people, and I will."

A thousand eyes pierced her skin. Ashirah realized what she had just said. She closed her eyes, counted to five, and open them again. Some of the anxiety expelled, just enough to breathe again. Finally she bowed to the guilds and the speaker.

Silver Shadows:
As more and more players threw out excuses not to go, he could feel his blood boil. It would be catastrophic if they failed and with the rumors of the regeneration issues that have been going on it could be even worse. Yet these people were perfectly fine with endangering the lives of thousands just to protect themselves. Suddenly he heard another voice and watched curiously as a young lady stepped towards them. Hearing her words he couldn't help but smile. "It seems that not everyone here is a coward." He mumbled before turning to the girl. He could see the nervousness in her stance but it wasn't that obvious. She was doing a good job hiding it though. Stepping towards her he gave a calm smile. "And what might your name be?" He asked bowing slightly in greeting to her, ignoring the eyes that watched him.

"Kyo is a nice name. And you're a kannagi with no guild? What are you doing here then?" While Kyo's name rung in her ears, Espella felt herself smile as she saw the agreement on his face at the arguments. More and more of them were popping up from different leaders all around the open area. The point of this meeting was to determine who would go so that lives were not lost. Their job as guilds, as Espella viewed it, was to protect and help those who weren't as strong as them or who lacked the power from not being in a large group. If everyone from the guilds withing Elder Tales was too scared to go on quests such as the Goblin King Raid, many loves will be lost. Not just adventurers, but people of the land as well. Since this game had become her new reality, Espella had begun to view what had once been nothing more than NPCs in her eyes as people who had just as many human rights as any adventurer. They just lacked the reincarnation ability that the adventurers seemed to be losing. Of course if you volunteered for the quest you could die, but the chances of not regenerating were practically slim to none. Especially for those who were high levels such as the leaders and second in commands.

Plenty of adventurers had completed that very same and they weren't even level eighty. The fact that hundreds of lives could easily be saved by taking on a quest that would be simple for a full raid group of people from levels eighty to ninety was something that drove Espella to going on missions such as this. However, the fear of adventurers not re-spawning in the cathedrals had such a tight grip on nearly everyone that so much was being jeopardized out of selfishness. When a voice spoke up, Espella was surprised to see a female werecat separate herself from the crowd. "I appreciate the fact that there are people who can acknowledge their fear and still head off on a mission such as this. That's what these children here need if they want to run a successful guild. It's despicable that they have so much influence and yet sit on their hands in the safety of their guilds with the threat of a possible massacre on our hands." Even though the times the goblin king had been crowned when Elder Tales was still a game there hadn't been massive effects, there was no way to know that the same would true now. No, it was best to decide on a team today and prevent a world-wide problem from leaving terrible scars across their new world.

"Naturally the Valkyrie guild will provide forces. Our guild has several members who are willing to fight the Goblin King." Espella's voice rose above the murmurs in the crowd. The faults in her social skills was far more evident when she's engaged in a one-on-one conversation. However, when it comes to a large group such as this, Espella sometimes came across as arrogant and condescending when she speaks to an entire body of people. Although in this situation, a little arrogance might not be a bad thing. It might spur some of the strong guilds who are just scared of the new complications with death into providing some numbers. Although her involvement with the organization of this quest was obvious, but Espella's participation in the actual raid depended on who else volunteered and if Virva would need her to help with guild during the next few weeks.

Watching as guilds threw out excuse after excuse only made Vriva's blood boil. They were supposed to be the leaders, the representatives of the adventurers and nearly all of them were acting like cowards! What kind of message did that send to the people of the land or heck even the other solo adventurers? She knew what message it sent; we're all weak cowards. About to do something herself Virva was stopped by a few politely murmured words "If you'll excuse me for a monent." Silver said before striding into the now nearly dissolved meeting. Separating a pair of arguing leaders Silver clearly had everyones attention "Now there's certainly no reason to fight about this, is there? We all came here for this reason, no? If none of you wish to go then don't. We have no room for spineless cowards on the battlefield." his words were sharp and clear with no room for argument. Something along the lines of what Virva herself would have said before Silver had stepped in.
As the shouts slowly died down into mutters Virva and everyone else there looked up at the sound of an unfamiliar voice "I shall go. I am a holy monk of the Sun. Sol teaches me to let no emotion overwhelm, especially fear. I am afraid, but I will not let fear prevent me from fulfilling my duty. As a monk, it is my duty to protect the people, and I will." turning towards the person who'd spoken Virva was surprised to see a youngish looking werecat step out from the crowd of solo adventurers. For a moment Virva stood in complete shock, well maybe there was some courage left after all.
Stepping forward a little Virva smiled at the werecat girl "Thank you for volunteering you've showed us all what courage is." she told the girl bowing her head a little in respect.
"Naturally the Valkyrie guild will provide forces. Our guild has several members who are willing to fight the Goblin King." Espella called out from where she was in the crowd. The declaration made Virva smile even wider, yes there was no question about wether the valkyries would be participating or not...heck Virva herself wanted to go on this quest though Espella might have a few words to say about that. Only confirming her friends statement with a nod and a smile, there was nothing really she needed to add to that statement.
surveying the remaining guild leaders and second in commands Virva smiled pleasantly "Any guild that doesn't wish to participate in any way whatsoever has no reason to stay, anyone whose interested please come forward." she said in a loud voice overlooking the crowd. Though her words were rather harsh but at this point harsh is what needed to be said and like magic those who were too cowardly began to dissipate, thinning the crowd to only those who thought it worth the risk.
