Malbies are little creatures that originated from an ancient Australian Marsupial called Bilby. They're a fluffier variation of their desert friends and show to be slightly more sociable towards humans than their short furred cousins. The word Malby stands for 'Maned Bilby', as that is what those little creatures are.
Those little creatures were thought to be extinct many years ago when the island they inhabited basically blew up on an volcano eruption (that's why there is no Malby island on the map nowadays) and many of those fluffy things were found on the beaches, soaked and tired. Since no one actually knew what to do with them (after all they were basically an 'invader species') and they were too cute to become coats, they began to be raised as pets and that life style suited them well.
So despise the rather ferocious look their fangs give them, Malbies are very sweet and cuddly creatures who enjoy spending their time curled on a fluffy blanket with a fruit salad by them or running around the garden hunting for tiny insects and other invertebrates, which is exactly where their sharp fangs come very in hand, after all worms are pretty slippery and so are fish, their sharp canines help them hold those 'treats' in place and not escape when caught. It's also pretty useful when making holes in trees to get to the sweet nectar.
Another curious trait about those little creatures is the fact that, apparently, all of them (males and females) can grow horns that resemble deer antlers in their anatomy and are covered by a velvety skin. Since they're pretty sensitive structures they're not used for fighting purposes, but often as display and Malbies tend to be careful with them and add little things to them to make them prettier, like flowers and shiny things they find around.
Talking about shiny things... Malbies have a passion for shiny and colorful things. They love things that can reflect light and will steal them and take them to their nests, usually a box stuffed with soft textiles and blankets their owners get them or that they like (keep in mind keeping your closet's door locked as they like to steal jumpers as well). They enjoy adding shiny things to their pelt, as well as simply using it for 'home decoration'.
Size:
Malbies are slighter bigger then their bilby cousins and have more variations in size.
Since they're marsupials they're born very small, being like the size of a coin and won't come out of their parent's pouch until they're at least a month old. By then they're already too big to fit on the pouch.
Out of the pouch baby: Is the size of a newborn kitten.
Child: The size of a kitten.
Teen: The size of a 8-12 months kitten.
Adult: Can grow up to Maine Coon size.
Fur:
Mlabies have very soft pelts that have a velvety touch to them that is very good to the touch. Makes you want to pet them forever.
Mane: All Malbies have a very fluffy scruff, pretty much like a cheetah's. That is very useful for young Malbies that are carried around by their parents, the large amount of fur helps to protect their soft skin.
Color: They usually range around light and pastel colors and never neon colors.
Feeding:
Malbies are omnivorous, which means they eat anything. From Worms to Candy worms x3 They can be fed cat food and things as such as well, however malbies fed that way have high tendencies of making holes in the garden to grab extra 'treats' in other to balance their food. It's way better to feed Malbies real food then to use the usual dry pallets.
Breeding:
