"Wait... so YOU are the leader of Amberclan." I was stunned. mother I meet the leader please visit soon. "So Amberstar can you tell me what kind of cats are in your clan, like cats that lost there way. the last time I saw my mother she said there are going to be cats like me in Amber clan?" I asked as we started walking in the same direction as before. I saw that we were going where their was no river. "Where are we going. there is no river over here." I said. "The river is dried out and I don't know for how long." Amberstar replied.

Sighing, i looked at the dry Riverbed where shining waters had once fed this land, turning the plants and grasses lush and green and full of life. "This clan is for cats who are seeking a home. For cats who have been disowned, thrown away, betrayed....this clan is for cats who want another chance, for cats who want a fresh start, for cats who dont want to be known as terrorists, but as heroes...." I murmured, my tail swishing as i walked. Icecrystal appeared to be listening attently, and even mentioned something about her mother. "Who...is you mother?"

Letting out a hiss of surprise, i jumped. Taking a deep breath, i nodded. "I think you to should go hunting....in fact, i think this entire clan should go hunting....half these cats never get on their feet most of the time." I rasped, taking another bite of the bird.

I stopped in my tracks "W-what do you mean" mother what is she talking about you made it sound like the clan members had a past like mine, I thought. "My mother, she is someone I would like to keep to myself." I was scared. what does she mean mother, where are you.

Icecrystal looked like a she cat i had once known, back when i lived with my "family" in the twolegplace. Hesitating for a moment, i slowed my pawsteps. Taking a deep breath, i uttered a name that brought pain to the surface of my heart, and made hidden scars throb. "Is her name...by any chance...Lilian?"

"Alright.." I sighed, even though i had my suspicions, and picked up the pace. "Camp is this way...and by the way, i never caught what your name was. If you want people calling you something other then 'she cat' during your stay with us, i suggest you tell me." I chuckled, bounding over a fallen tree.

"I'm Ice Crystal." I said felling a little better. I still wondered how she knew that name. "So, are you the leader by deputy or did Starclan tell you to make a clan?" I was eager to hear her answer, she might say how she knew my mothers name.

"Its neither of those...in a way. When i was around 10 moons old, my sister Lilian confided in me what she considered her darkest secret...her belief in the fact that her ancestors...our ancestors...lived in a world like our own, watching over us and sending us dreams to guide us through life. My parents...my 'family' believed that if a cat of their family believed in Starclan...as Lilian introduced me to it...that cat was insane and would be thrown out of their home. I didnt know this of course and went spewing my dreams from Starclan about the alley where my family lived. When my parents found out....it was horrible. Lilian did everything she could to protect me...but she ended up with a gash in her side and me on the streets. Sad and lonely, i tried to live in twolegplace for a while longer...but i was targeted constantly. In a dream, Starclan told me to leave twolegplace and go to the forest...there i would find a true family...one made of cats like me." I sighed, looking away. "And i did....but i never forgot the last time i saw Lilian, her belly swollen with kits...her mate hissing at her as he slashed at her side, her face contorted into one of shame. Its haunted me forever....and its the one thing that drives me to get stronger, to eventually go back and save Lilian...and get revenge." I hissed the last part, my tail lashing.

her answer said a lot but I didn't know if I could trust that she knew my mother, its impossible, we just met I told myself. I forced myself to say something. "My mother said to me the last time I saw her 'Go to Amberclan across the river there will be cats like you, lost with nowhere to go you will be safer there. Take Night Fang with you.' Night Fang was my older brother he was 10 moons old. In leafbare he kept me warm, and we caught pray together. Until one day we had to cross a river, not this one but a different one, it was hard to cross because I was only 7 moons old. I lost my footing on the last stone. He went in to save me. He... he dragged me out to the riverbank and started coughing.. and coughing.. and coughing..." I couldn't finish. I started to cry. I could hear Amberstar whisper under her breath trying to make me feel better she said she knew how I felt. I couldn't argue with that. I thought I could hide my feelings, but not all the time. where were you then mother I thought.
