Heya guys! Sorries to drop in so late. ^^;;
______________
Our quartet's Christmas was relatively enjoyable--as the other nations left, and they cleaned up, time passed until it was finally time for them all to retire to bed. When they woke up, they each got to open their gifts from Finland--Alfred got a new chainsaw, Matthew a megaphone, Toris a relationship book ("Is She Out To Kill You?: A Memoir of Living With A Psychotic and Romantic Maniac" by Ivan Braginski), and Arthur got yet another tea set. Now, after all of the Christmas and Boxing Day celebrations were over, they each decided to prepare for New Year's.
~~~~~~~~
"Where's Germany?"
Matthew looked up from Toris' novel; he'd gotten to the good part, where Ivan detailed the Halloween where Belarus locked him in a tank of water with cat ears...! "Germany? Why Germany?"
"Because," Lithuania gestured to the now-healing cut on his cheek, "I think we owe him. I mean, we interrupted his partying for my injuries. I feel bad about that..."
"Oh." Canada set the book down. "Yeah, I feel a little bad about that too. How about we get him a gift?"
"Yeah! Sounds good!" Toris smiled. "Now, what do you think he'd like?"
"Beer." Canada replied flatly. "Just, beer."
Well. That was easy.
"How are we going to get-- Umm, Canada?" Canada had left the room midway through Lithuania's sentence, and came back a minute or so later with a six-pack of Canadian beer.
"Got it!" He grinned, waving the alcohol in the air. "Now, are you going to make something?"
"Ah! I'll make some Pyragas su aguonomis." Toris hadn't cooked some of his native food in a while; this would be nice. Matthew stared at him with curiousity. "Some what?"
"Oh!" Toris flushed slightly. "I forgot, you don't speak Lithuanian. Heh heh. I'll make some Poppyseed Cake."
"Sounds nice." Canada said, setting the beer down. "Need some help?"
"S-Sure! That'd be great, thanks, Canada!"
"No prob," Matthew replied, "I'd be glad to."
As the cake cooked, Toris and Matthew decided to write a note to add along with the beer and cake. Toris tapped the pen against his lips, pondering what to write. At the moment, the note looked something like this:
"Herr Germany,
Thanks so much for helping me at the Christmas party. I'm sorry if I ruined your party was a nuisance. Canada felt bad too, so when I suggested that we should pay you back, he got you some beer agreed. As for me, I made some cake decided to give you this in thanks..."
"This is horrible!" The brunette crumpled the note, and tossed it to the wastebasket.
"Here, let me try," Canada suggested, taking the pen. He finished, and handed it to Lithuania.
"Germany,
Thanks so much for helping me. I'm really sorry if I accidentally interrupted your celebrations. But, still, I'm really glad you helped me. I really appreciate it. In thanks, Canada and I got you beer and made you a poppyseed cake.
Happy New Year!
--Lithuania"
"Ooh, that sounds good." Toris grabbed the note from the blonde's hand, and added something at the bottom.
"What'd you write?" Canada asked, taking the note back. His indigo eyes scanned the paper as he read, and when he finished, he grinned. "Why, that's nice."
"...P.S.: You're not too bad."
Lithuania blushed slightly. "W-Was it too personal?"
"Not at all," Matthew replied, setting the note and beer in a basket with a red ribbon tied around the handles. "Knowing him, I think he'll appreciate it."
*Ring!*
"Oh! That's the cake!" Toris rushed to the kitchen, and seized the cake from the oven with mitts, setting it on the counter. He quickly set in in a towel, and put it into the basket.
"Well then," Canada took the basket, "Let's get this to Germany's place!"
~~~~~~~~
Toris delicately set it on Germany's doorstep soon after he arrived with Canada. "Well, I hope he gets it."
"He will," Matthew said, "He will."
The two then walked back to America's house.
