Scorchstar watched the massive, dark brute stumbled off, cursing and grumbling something awful as he did so, and let a sigh escape his clenched teeth. The mighty, now calm and level-headed tomcat hissed lowly, almost inaudibly,"What am I going to do with him..? I cannot keep making excuses for his benefit - I must start punishing him more harshly.. When will he ever learn, that troublesome cat?" Shaking his skinny, well-defined head, the tabby turned his head away from Hawkcry and focused on Batpaw - who was shuddering and who looked on the verge of vomiting. He let out another weary sigh, knowing what must be done to save whatever was left of the blind cat's dignity, the impossibly tall cat followed Batpaw off to the medicine cats' den, skirting around Hawkcry without a word to reach the worn-out, defeated, bleeding apprentice. "Batpaw? I'm sorry if I'm interrupting something, since you're obviously trying to find Softberry or one of her apprentices, but can I speak to you for just a moment, please? There's something I've been meaning to discuss with you, and I feel as if the events of tonight have only heightened my urge to talk with you on.. a somewhat serious matter."H A W K C R Y

Hawkcry heard Batpaw slowly get himself together and trot after him - the awkwardness was awful between both of the injured, hate-filled cats, but the dark, pale blue-eyed tabby knew he had the upper paw. By crushing Batpaw's willpower, draining him of all hope, and by humiliating him, he'd done what he'd set out to do: make a powerful warrior out of the blind cat. Though Hawkcry's logic was very twisted to some, most likely, his plans for Batpaw made perfect sense to him.. The ebony, turquoise-eyed tomcat was brimming with loathing - the seasoned warrior could tell that much.. it radiated from the apprentice's skin, nearly, and hit him in waves.. But even so, his job was complete. He'd followed his mantra - that hatred breeds strong, capable warriors - and had, without Batpaw knowing it himself, made him stronger in the process of breaking him. Sure, the cat would despise his guts for life, but that didn't stir any kind of emotion in Hawkcry - he wasn't swayed by that. Now, it is up to Waspclaw to press that hatred and get him to use it properly.. And by properly, I mean to help our cause. I've done my part, now it is up to Waspclaw to fully bring Batpaw to our side.. I won't be of much use to Batpaw's training now, and there's no need to be involved any longer.
Hawkcry pricked his ears as he neared Softberry's den and heard Scorchstar's nimble, swift steps behind him and couldn't help but cast his head about. At the same time, Batpaw breezed by him, that familiar scent of hate and the desire for vengeance wafting from the tom, and went to the medicine cats' den before the dark tabby. He rolled his pale blue eyes and let out a little huff, tempted to snap at the blind male when he called out the three cats' names, I knew you were stupid, but not that stupid.. Can't you tell that they're not here, right now, kit? Oh, yes, I forgot... You can't see them, can you?
The egotistical, bleeding tom growled, his pupils narrowing to mere slits, and changed his course of direction a bit. He heard Scorchstar bound over to Batpaw, saw the orange tabby pull him aside and begin to talk with him in hushed tones, though he couldn't make out what they were saying. Hawkcry decided it best not to eavesdrop, though he really wanted to, and instead settled down outside the medicine cats' den. The dark brown tabby plopped onto his muscular, toned haunches, twisting his surprisingly agile head around to lick at his reopened shoulder wound while he awaited Softberry or one of her apprentices to return.

I've got him ensnared like a fly in a spider's web now.. But now that I've caught my prey, will I release it out of pity..? Or shall I devour it whole with m savage, cunning lies? Well, I choose lies. It's what I do best, after all.. Ant speculated, seeing the little bit of suspiciousness in the white, kitten-fluffed cat and picking up on it quickly. Convince I'm, better, then! Put on a show!
At the tom's slightly smart comment on her ability to scent the air and tell that there were cats around, the Abyssinian pulled back a little, mocking hurt in her narrowed, golden eyes. "You insult my hearing?" The dust-colored molly purred, though her voice had a bit more edge and had lost its sweetness. "I guess I was distracted.. I often roam about the desert at night and apparently I walked too far on this night in particular.. Can you deny me of my brief moment of daydreaming, then?"
Ant calmed down a a bit and forced some sugariness into her bewitching meow when he asked her name, stepping back from the tomcat and rising her abnormally long, whip-like tail high over her head, "My name, you ask? Well, you can call me Ant. Like the insect, yes. Yours?" In all my years, no cat has ever asked me the meaning behind my name.. Will you, younger one? Well, the answer to that is simple: my human tormentors named me after the most terrifying, vicious breed of ant... The bullet ant. Why?
Because I'll hit you like a bullet and you'll never see it coming. All you will have left of me is a serious of stunning welts on your skin, and then I'll be gone, on my way.. Off to capture some other little poor soul like yourself.J A C K A L H O W L

As Jackalhowl hesitated, he saw Scorchstar leap in between the two arguing cats - who had finally broken apart and were now cursing, it seemed, at one another rather vulgarly. The main coon sighed, shaking his brawny head with some annoyance. What had Hawkcry gotten himself into now?
Then, with a terribly late reaction to what was happening, Larkpelt sped forward to investigate, eyes wide and pelt spiked. Jackalhowl stared after him, brow furrowed into a frown, and called out, as the younger male passed him by, "Wha-? Larkpelt, cut it out, will you? The situation has already been resolved, you dunce. Look, Scorchstar just broke up the fight and there goes Hawkcry, of to take a punishment or something. Settle down, will ya?"
For once, the mottled, thickly-furred brute was annoyed by the tom's rash behavior. Can't he stop and take a look around before barging forward, screaming all the way? If he'd just sat back like me, he would've realized that Scorchstar had handled the problem well. Scorchstar isn't helpless, and surely he doesn't need Larkpelt's assistance.
To Jackalhowl's surprise, Cactusfoot didn't make a peep on the stupidness of Larkpelt. Maybe he'd finally realized what a grump he'd been and had stopped being so pessimistic and wry? Jackal howl regarded the much older brute out the corner of one, wide, yellow-green eye, and the observing of the tabby was subtle, innocticable. Eventually, the mottled main coon jerked his head around back to Larkpelt, how now looked embarrassed after Jaycloud andJackalhowl had harassed him.F L A R E P A W

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
When Halfpaw didn't respond to her bombarding questions, the molly let out a loud harrumph and turned away from the bloodied, one-eyed, introverted male. If he's not going to answer my questions, then I won't give him the time of day. I say losing his eye serves him right for getting involved with a rogue! How stupid can a cat get, in all honesty..?
Remembering what she came to the Falls for, the petite oriental shorthair strutted away from the black, depressed tomcat and made her way across the sandy earth to the nearby river. With one last annoyed glare at half paw, who was watching her with wide, saddened, amber eyes, Flarepaw plunged into the cool, yet slightly warm, rapidly-rushing waters. She knew about the deaths that had occurred here - like Grasstooth's so many moons ago - which is why she stuck to the shallows of the river, not wanting to be swept away and drowned. Flare paw had always been a tough, well-rounded swimmer, and could glide through any water with ease, but not even her powerful legs could withstand the superior strength of the liquid.. So the cunning female bathed herself of the mouse bile odor while her feet still touched the pebbles that made up the bottom of the river.
Before long, her thin, ebony pelt was clean, and when she could not longer smell a hint of the vile, doors smell of mouse puke, Flarepaw slid rather elegantly as well as arrogantly out of the river. The molly, young as she was, knew clearly how beautiful she was to the eye, and tended to flaunt it every chance she got. But she was a heartbreaker, even at eleven moons old - her looks could enrapture any male, secure any mate, but her tongue was searing her her eyes were cold..
Spitting at Halfpaw, she shook out her rumpled pelt right beside his face before trotting off, back up the gorge, with her fur still sopping wet and her angular head arched high.N O E Y E S

Noeyes' head flitted from between the two. It was obvious how much Sandystrike cared for her cousin.. and obvious how much she intended to keep him safe until the last breath left her body. Of course, Rattlestorm was a special tom, even the blind elder could pick up on that by the way he constantly stumbled and toppled to the earth. The Russian blue pitied the young warrior, but believed in him at the same time..
She meowed to Rattlestorm, sweetly, but her ears were still pinned back to hear what had become of the fight behind her, "Though you may not believe it, your cousin is only trying to do what is best for you, dearie.. What if you waltzed out of camp and met the fangs of a jackal? Especially at this time of day... They're sure to be roaming about, waiting for some cat to wander away from the safety of his family." Her brusque, slightly chiding tone turned into something more light, and she added, a purr oozing from her scraggily-furred throat, "I think you should do your best to listen to Sandystrike, young'un.. Like I said, she only has your best interests at heart. And, no, of course you didn't bother me. Just wanted to 'see' what was what and investigate." Nosey trailed off a bit, changing the subject like any old cat would, "I heard a fight going on.." She waved her tail in the direction she'd heard the screeching emanate from, concern now scrawled across her face. "Can you tell me what is happening..? It sounds as if the fighting has stopped, but I'm still wondering what occurred.."
*AndeanCatBug* wrote:Lizardfang glanced at her small bed. She stretched it out with her paws so that it was still comfy, but larger. "Alright," she mewed. She curled up in the bed, tapping the space beside her with her tail. The nest was still surprisingly soft, or maybe it was just her imagination. "Come on," she purred. "It''s softer than it looks." She stretched out, her long legs extending over the edge of the prickly bed. It had been so long since she had slept in this private den. It was odd not sleeping with other warriors around her.
