I like tetras and rasboras. Lots of different varieties, pick your poison! My favourites are neon tetras, rummynose tetras, galaxy rasboras, ember tetras, and espei rasboras.

A nice alternative to guppies, although still live-bearing, are endlers. They're smaller than fancy guppies and have a lighter bioload.

Okay, cool! Thank you, I'll keep those in mind ^-^

also, I'm trying to find a good heater for a 2 gallon tank, hopefully one that isn't super expensive but at the same time I don't really know what I'm looking for. Would anyone have any recommendations?

How do you keep your ponds clean? Mine has so much algae and filth that we can't even see into it.

You could look in to pond filters, they are like tank filters but a lot are set up separate from the pond so as not to take up space.

1. Preferred ph for them?
2. Temperature?
3. Territorial or not?
4. How much is the bioload for them?
5. Tank size?

Actually, I'm not getting any shrimps anytime soon, I just imagined a tank with lots of plants and ghost shrimps hopping all around! Then thought of some questions.

1. 6.5-8, but don't worry about it.
2. 65-85F
3. If you overstock they will fight, otherwise they're pretty mellow.
4. Very light
5. 5 shrimp per gallon, but don't use a 1 gallon tank. Shrimp are VERY sensitive to water quality and it's difficult to keep a stable nitrogen cycle in that small of a tank. 5 gallons is good.

If you get glass shrimp at Petco or petsmart or another chain-type store, most will die shortly. They're bred as feeders and zero care is given to their treatment and health before being shipped to the store.

Thanks for the information!
( And that explains why my shrimps died so quickly- Got them from Petco )

How often are you doing water changes? Does it have a filter? What is the stocking and pond size?

Betta pellets are what I use. They're tiny and they float, and I got the kind that helps them keep vibrant colors.
Plus they're easy for me to prepare (obviously, I just have to put them in), because I have school and can't exactly balance my bettas nutrients every day and make homemade mixed meals!
I just got mine at Petsmart, not sure of the brand. They even have them at Walmart.
Also, for heaters, it depends on the quality you're looking for. My bettas are each in a 5 gallon tank, and I got something similar to this for each of their tanks. There's no temperature control, it doesn't measure temperature, it just gets hot, and they recommend a tank size for it. Super cheap.
You just have to be careful at first to make sure that it's heating the tank to the correct level, not too cold or too hot.

I love the fish, ESPECIALLY bettas. Trade me!
I was gone for a couple months, so I'm trying to catch back up on the pets from Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and the month pets during that time.

Don't just buy any pellets. The vast majority of betta pellets on the market are total crap. Get New Life Spectrum or Omega One, available at most large pet stores. Your jaw may drop at the price - I was surprised the very first time I went to buy pellets, "$5!? For one jar of pellets!?" I thought. Compare ingredients and I am quite sure your surprise will dwindle. Tetra or Aqueon are cheap in the sense that the price of one container of pellets is only $1-2. A steal, right? Think again! Those brands are so cheap for the customer to buy because the manufacturer pays next to nothing to stuff them full of fillers and preservatives. Corn? Wheat? What kind of diet is that for a naturally carnivorous animal? A horrible one, that's what. Omega One and New Life Spectrum have real fish and other meats, not gross low-quality grains.
Also, the label proclaiming to "improve colours" is more often than not a crap marketing scam.

Every other week we change the water. It does have a filter. We started with 6 goldfish and 3 koi, but they all bred so I don't know how many I have now. The pond is about 6,500 gallons.
