Statos looked over his final blog entry, a little proud, and flashed a small smile across his screen. It would be the first expedition into the barren wasteland outside the city in a long time, but it meant more than that to him. It meant proving he was right and possibly saving the world in the process.
According to his calculations, he would arrive in the Lilydale ruins about the same time the power would fail. It was a win-win: either he would overheat or his battery would die in the worst case scenario, and at best he would save the world (or so he put it, because saving the power sounded far less heroic). His feet carried him to the street, bumping past other robots as he went to fetch his emergency batteries from the store. Everything seemed so normal, it was almost unnatural.
Fourteen days. Everyone only had fourteen days. Statos didn't mind the impending doom or inevitability of the end so much as he minded the fact that no one else seemed to be trying to change anything. It was so... Depressing.
