Jane had been awake for awhile, since well before the sun started to peak over the horizon. She had changed from her pajamas into a simple tank top, and shorts. Her shorts used to be sweat pants, but she cut them. Now she had shorts that were stretchy and soft, so she could slip them off quickly when about to shift. It was still early in the morning, but it was light enough to hunt. At the moment, while in human form and not connected to her wolf side physically or mentally, running through the woods to look for animals to eat uncooked didn't seem too appealing. However, she knew in time she could easily kill something and eat it raw without cringing. Some others liked them to bring back kill and cook it. Jane just followed what the alpha or beta said. On the way out the cabin, she tapped on the other hunters doors, Keira and Tyler to wake them if they weren't already ready to go. In the distance Jane could see Clay heading towards her. Jane was itching to shift and go off into the woods, but she needed Clay's order. Breaking into a soft jog, she met Clay halfway. She didn't say anything, instead waiting for the alpha to speak. She assumed he knew her role as lead huntress, and would tell her orders if need be. Her foot tapped the ground in a soft rhythm as she eagerly waited to go.

Matthew loped the borders of the pack territory, scouting for anything suspicious. His main concern was that some stupid humans would show up camping or something, and happen upon their cabin. The cabin came back into his sight, so he slowed to a walk, feeling accomplished. His tongue lolled out of his mouth, panting heavily, until he came upon a puddle and lapped up a good portion of water to quench his thirst. He sighed, satisfied with his early morning routine. Now all he needed was breakfast. Near the cabin, just a little ways off, he could see what looked like Clay and Jane in the distance. He breathed in deeply for the scents to make sure he was correct. It was Jane talking to Clay, and he hoped that she and her hunters would come back with some food. Matthew sprawled out, still in wolf form, in the shade just beside the cabin to wait and to cool off a bit.

"Chase! Come on, let's go!" Katie yelled from the base of the stairs, her voice carrying up to Chase's room. "Jeeze, what's the hurry?" Chase appeared from his room, then came down the stairs to meet Katie near the front door. "I want to go for a walk while it's cool, then go get breakfast at the bakery when it opens later," Katie said, opening the door and motioning for him to walk outside. "You know I'm not ten anymore, I can stay home by myself. Plus, there are pop tarts you know," Chase said with a roll of eyes as he stepped out the door. "Ya, but I know you would've complained if I saw something cool in the woods today, or if I got something delicious at the bakery and you didn't," Katie said with a laugh. Chase's serious face broke into a smile, "You know me so well."
A path from their small house led into the woods, though eventually it faded away into leaves and branches. Almost all of the woods looked the same, but Katie knew it by heart. Her love for nature caused her to drag Chase along. She still did, but now he didn't try and keep himself from getting pulled into her, as Chase put it, obsession. Their house was a little ways off from the town, and one of the closest properties in the area to the woods. Now deeper into the woods, the roof and chimney of their house could no longer be seen.
(I will post Katie and Chase separately from my next post and on. I just combined them for now.)
