Clary told the mare to catch up and the chestnut did as she was told. She soon appeared next to Luke once more. She frowned slightly. "Why's that?" She asked. "I would often venture to the local swimming center with my father every weekend. He taught me to swim."

Jackson heard someone scream and instinctively ran towards where it came from. He could see through the trees the shape of a monster but couldn't tell where the source of the scream was from. He got closer and saw that it was a cyclops quickly gaining on a girl who seemed to be hurt. He quickly jumped in between the girl and the cyclops and aimed his dagger at the cyclops so that the light reflected directly in its eye. While the monster was stunned and blinded he attacked it and after multiple stabs and slashes it turned to dust. He rushed back over to the girl and put his dagger away. "Are you okay? Let's hurry to camp." He said, not allowing her to answer and helping her walk quickly into the barrier of the camp.
