Ferondir's head jerked up.
"The King? Dead?"
Castle town is the most secure place in all of Hyrule, and the king was the most protected. No one could kill the king. The very idea was... unimaginable.
"How could that be?"
If the king really was dead... It could only mean one thing, every life in Hyrule was in danger.
And Ferondir's life was about to get very complicated. He'd been training to be a wizard. Whatever was coming, he was more prepared than anyone else in his hometown, only Zeph or his mentor could match him.
Even if he wasn't, it was his duty, as a hylian, to defend his country.

Sapphire woke with a start. Her mind was still half way in dreamworld. "Mother?" She said in a quiet and scared voice, looking at Amethyst. She realized that she wasn't looking at her dead dream mother anymore, but that she was back in the real world, where her mom had already been murdered. She felt a little embarrassed. She had hid the fact that she had nightmares every night from her, and hid it very well. Unless she woke screaming bloody murder. It was a little hard to hide that. So long as Amethyst doesn't know about how frequent the nightmares are. "Erm, what is it?"

Day 5 (Morning)/Guzore the Goron/20/Where: Outside Gregal's Mansion/With: Everyone

Guzore was shocked. How could've the king been murdered? Was this a joke? It couldn't possibly be real! The Zora continued.
It was the new Leader of the Bordix! He flew above Castle Town on a Pyrodactyl and pulled out a weird staff... and the King just collapsed! It's beyond anything I've ever heard of!
Wait, hold it. Did he say Pyrodactyl?
*FLASHBACK TO PAGE 46*
In the midst of the pouring rain, he caught a glimpse of an orange light in the sky. He pulled out his binoculars and observed a cloaked figure riding on a Pyrodactyl. That was... odd. Pyrodactyls were only native to the Gerudo Desert, and it wouldn't make sense for one to be flying through all this rain unless there was a good reason for it.
No, there wasn't time to figure out why the Pyrodactyl was there. He had to sort things out with his friends.

*END FLASHBACK*
The pyrodactyl he saw must've been the one the Bordix leader was riding on!
He could've stopped it.
You could've stopped it.
He didn't stop it.
You didn't stop it.
He failed.
You failed.

No, it was coming back. This wasn't good.

...

Guzore snapped out of his mind and saw that the Zora he had been talking to had swam away. He took a deep breath and turned to his friends.
Guys, we need to get to Castle Town!

Zeph was jerked awake, hearing "Hey wake up! Something's happened!" From the ground below his window.
Huh.
It appears Zeph must have fallen asleep introns of the big glass window at the end of the room.
From it, Zeph could see Guzore talking to 2 Zoras he didn't recognize.
ugh.
making friends as usual I see, Guzore.
Zeph was about to go back to sleep when he heard the kings dead!.
the- the kings...dead?! zeph immediately got up, threw on his cloak and bolted out his bedroom door, heading left down the corridor.

"Right behind you, brother." Ferondir said, adopting the Goron's bronoun...
It sounded too Ferondir as though there might still be a chance to save his beloved king.
It could be suspended animation, or magical sleep, maybe he was not yet within the grasp of Death. Leo had always been there when Mira village was in a famine or drought. His men had always been there to chase away the bandits. Now he needed help.
With that, he tightened his straps and picked up his staff.
"I'm hoping he's just in a death-like state." Ferondir said. "If so, the sooner we get there the better."
It crossed Ferondir's mind that the Zora might have been lying, but he'd rather regret believing him and being wrong.
Hopefully the king's wizards had suspended him, to stop whatever curse the Monster had put on him.
Maybe they'll figure it out before he gets there. Ferondir was not willing to assume that.
"I refuse to believe our king is dead."

Della Collern/13/ColorBlind/Where: Gregal's Mansion I think/With: The others

Della on the other hand was a heavy sleeper, and hadn't woken up even with the commotion of everyone freaking out about the king being murdered.

He could choose to wait, or leave now.
Time was of the essence, but...
He couldn't leave them behind. His instinct told him to stay with them.
"Della," Ferondir said. "Wake up, we've got to go."
He shook her gently, and she opened her eyes.
"Come on, we have to get moving, now."
He ran to wake Jack, but found him sitting quietly on a log, apparently deep in thought.
He turned back. "Guzore, go get Zeph, I think he's in the mansion."
He stayed by the camp, waking all the others. Oddly enough, Zeph was the only one who decided to sleep inside.

Drimaethor quickly grabbed his things and slung his bag over his back. He walked with Guzore with everyone still rustling about.

"Guzore what are we gonna do?" He asked the goron. He naturally felt like they should try to help Castle Town but he didn't know how.

"Guys, we need to get to castle town!" Sapphire heard Guzore say. Sapphire said in a squeaky voice, "No!" Castle town! One of the most populated places in Hyrule! Nah ah. Nooooooooo. Never. She got up and sprinted off from the group, heading for the lake. There was no way that she was going to Castle town.

Amethyst attempted to attack whatever had shaken her awake, but it seemed to already be gone. She glanced around, trying to figure out what happened. Everyone was hurrying to get up, and Guzore and some other were by the water with two Zoras. She saw Sapphire running towards the lake as well and chased afterwords to see what was happening. She caught the words on everyone's mind "The king is dead..."

...That was it? The king is dead? She couldn't stop herself from laughing aloud. She was barely aware of Hyrule politics, she had her life, she didn't feel much affected by what went on by Castle Town. Everyone is in a panic about a man dying? How silly. The heir would take the throne. It was probably the heir who killed him. There might be a bit of conflict, and then everything will be back to normal. Won't it? As she considered that, she slowly became more serious, the humor had been lost from the situation. Perhaps not, this could be the beginning of a larger violence. Still, people shouldn't be in a rush to go anywhere, especially not Castle Town. No, the smart thing to do would be to stay here and brace themselves for the impact of what was to come, whenever that was.
This message has been brought to you by various people and ideas I am too lazy to mention
