❅The storm appeared out of nowhere, causing all the human inhabitants of Akiak, Alaska to the larger cities where it wasn’t as rugged, not as dangerous. With the sudden evacuation, the humans had to leave many belongings behind, including their dogs. The residents had been told that the storm would pass within a few days, but as the days wore on the storm only grew stronger. The dogs left behind were fine for the first few days, safely tucked in the snow dens that they had made to keep them warm but as the days went on they grew hungry. When there was a break in the weather, the canines took their chances and broke the frozen chains that had kept them tied down. With the weather still hostile and their only chance of survival being in the Alaskan wilderness, they’re going to have to adapt and leave their owners behind with the small town.
