Also, to be perfectly honest, most Zelda games don't have very good plots. Most Zelda games have antagonists that don't have any personality besides "LOL I like destroying stuff", and the plot structure is exposition > 3 dungeons > plot twist > some more dungeons > plot twist > final boss battle > someone leaves. The only exceptions to this, in my opinion, are Link's Awakening, The Wind Waker, and (to an extent) A Link Between Worlds. The villains have motivations and the plot progresses at a reasonable pace*. Super Paper Mario and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of X, spinoffs of two of Nintendo's most stereotypically plot-lacking franchises, had great plots, why can't a main Zelda game? =/
*...if those cutscenes of Hilda monologing<sp?> in ALBW count as plot progression.
Oh, Zelda Universe is a website?
I knew that....Anyway, I agree with what your saying. I really hope they do add a really good plot in the newest Zelda game. But ever since Satoru Iwata died, I don't know what they're going to do. I mean, he WAS in charge of many, many successful Nintendo game franchises, and now that he's gone, what is Nintendo going to do?
Anyway, IMO,
Skyward Sword has a better plot than most other Zelda games. I don't know why it receives so much hate, though. It's the most plot driven Zelda game I've played.
PLEASE DON'T HURT ME I WAS JUST STATING MY OPINION
