That's why I love the Fairy Tail characters so much. THey all developed into something with more than one dimension once you were told their backstory. Erza became something more than a swordswoman that everyone but Mirajane seemed scared of. Gray became something more than just fanservice. Lucy became something more than a spoiled brat that really shouldn't have had any focus on her. About the only person who developed as a person with the story progression was Natsu. He began to be fleshed out into something awesome with each fight he lost, with each rematch he won. That's why he is now one of the Shonen Mains.

Nobody kill me for saying this: but she's still pretty useless. 90% of the time she's just tagging along, not actually doing anything, and everyones always having to save her from something/someone. xD

Yeah, Celestial wizards just seem really weak to me. They have other people to fighting for them, Lucy at least has a whip but she never uses it!

Not only is it cliche, I feel Natsu needs someone who can actually balance out his immaturity with their maturity.

You may not have, but I did, she's always beenthe most useless member of team natsu, even happy and carla are more useful. this is my opinion, and unless she somehow manages to rescue somebody instead of getting caught herself, my mind will not change xD

I agree, I have a Fae fiction and Lucy died. I have an OC for Natsu she she's perfect....

Oh my gosh! So much to read I think my lack of imagination made me immune to the character bug.

@Mel I don't want to spoil anything, but I've read up to like Chapter 450 (or something like that) in the manga and Lucy kinda becomes better later on, it just takes a while for it to come to light. I feel NaLu is just awkward when the maturity differences become apparent.

@Kakashi I'd love to send someone, but all my characters are pretty weak or celestial spirits (well, Espella could do it, but she doesn't really come into the story yet).

Speaking of which, how are we going to lead into the first arc? Is there going to be one major event or just a series of little things that are traced back to Oblivion?

Actually, maybe Adara and Steve (maybe a few others) could do it? I mean, Adara isn't S-class, but she wouldn't be above snagging something if others pressured her into it. It would have to be some pretty influential people, though so like Steve and Bruce or someone like that. Just spit-balling, but maybe Adara, Steve, Bruce, Alisha?

@espeon, having non s-class members take the job would be rather interesting, especially since master akira would likely send an s-class to retrieve them.....It would be really interesting to see who was sent after them xD
