Sketchi's Staff Pet Analysis!

Ok, here we have Sketchi's first staff pet from 2014:


Key aspects:
- A cloudy/misty design on the tail, back and head
- An edited leg design, something that I think is a first
- A key necklace around its neck, which appears to be glowing
- Uses quite a bit of colour. Minus shading, about 4-5 (This is considering there was a set colour pallette)
- The words Sketchi on the tail

Since that was their only staff pet, lets take a look at some litters:



This one is from Sketchi's first litter, back in April 2014

Key aspects:
-A misty pattern from the rainbow part of the dogs back
- A LOT of colour, not just with the rainbow. The combinations of black, greys and white's build it up
- Small details that wouldn't make the pet the same without it. I'm talking about how the black and rainbow blend. Instead of blurring, there's lines of black.

Lets go to one of Sketchi's most recent litters, just last month



Key aspects:
- ITS A HYENA! Many line edits have been made, and do I even need to list them?
- The colours match the species perfectly.
- Hair, or maybe a mane, I don't know hyena anatomy.

So what may we expect?

- Line edits. From looking at the archive, most of her pets have line edits. Such as the emoticon dogs from May, and the Cleoarchie kids and lion cats from April. Not to mention the BBS litter! AND THEY MADE AT LEAST 2 NEW PET LINEARTS!
- Hair of some sort. Its been in their staff pet, on the emoticon dogs, the store unicorns if you count their manes, its gotta be there.
- Lots of colour and amazing shading. Also small details that make it just the little bit more great
- Something showing its Sketchi, like with last years staff dog

I think maybe we should add #staffpetartistanalysis to any artist analysis for it to be easier to see and find. Just a suggestion though :-)

no line-edits apart from the eyes here. paler colours, many "hidden" messages. still slightly shy a bit, since it's only their second pet(?)


many, many line-edits can be seen here. eyes, spider legs and an extremely long tail. we can be expecting a lot of line-edits from cataract if she is to continue on this track.

Chia:


this is her only one, but it has a lot of line edits. wings, antlers, tail, this is a very edited pup. Chia's style is girly-ish, a very cutesy theme to each of her pets. always the most vibrant colours, I find. this is judging off of both her staff pet and pets she has drawn in general.

Orchid Sprig:


no line edits, more simple design. hidden message in the background.


slight line edit (wings), simple design, kind of hidden wisps in the background.


not really a line edit apart from the tail (?) more detailed design (oldest one, though), no hidden things.

so basically we're looking for little to no line edits, a simple yet busy-ish design, and possibly hidden messages or just hidden things in general o3o

Seeing my past dogs in a lineup is great xD It shows how different I try to make them each year so you can't guess which one is mine.
