Christin looked at Summer. "It's alright, nothing's started yet. But now that you're here, I could use some help," she said. "I need someone to check my numbers- for a headcount," She continued, giving the younger woman a small smile. She looked at the group and started to mentally count.
'So there's two... Three... Five... Six... Seven...' She paused.
'So that's three missing.' She frowned at that, shaking her head. "I counted seven, you?"
(Chase and Arron are open.)
I'll figure something out for this at some point.

She listened as the head scientist gave her a task; a simple but important one, she supposed. She nodded, her gaze flicking over all the 'mutants', counting seven in total. The task gave her time to see just who she was dealing with, and found that some of them were obvious angry, some casually chatting as if this was an everyday thing, and that some of them were even what she would consider....attractive? "Seven. Yeah." She agreed, with a nod.

She nodded as he explained further what he was, getting bit technical. Of course she didn't mind it, she was smart herself. As his eyes graze Dover her, just as hers had over him, she found herself fidgeting uncomfortably. She hated being the center of attention, especially when she didn't know the person or people very well. "Great white." she elaborated, with another nod. But she didn't find a smile on her face. She wasn't one to show many emotions, unless she was having an 'anger attack'. She knew, as soon as she had answered, that she was going to be the one who made the conversation akward. She always made things akward, with her silence easily filling up empty spaces where she could have gotten a word in. She hoped he was outgoing enough to fill the silence; just because she didn't talk much, didn't mean she didn't like talking to people. Sometimes, at least.

Kenna Lyes
Kenna walked into the room, silent, and she took a quick glance around at the others.
Nobody too weird. Just other... freaks, she thought, folding her arms and moving toward the back of the room, wishing that nobody would notice her. She didn't like interacting with most people. What would be the point? She knew her purpose; why bother making connections and friendships when a premature death was so likely? It would just cause strain on the group, and the goal at hand. She couldn't be responsible for hurting the mission. She took another glance around, hoping to locate at least one of the scientists, and she did: her eyes set on Summer and she watched, waiting her briefing to finish.
No use interrupting. It could be important.

James || 18 || Bothrops Asper || tagged;; Jin"that's interesting." he hummed, looking over towards the ever growing group of hybrids and scientists. "i wonder if there is a reason why our animal halves are so different than those of the others." he pondered eyes flicking away from the group and back to the shark. "i mean, did the scientists chose our animals on purpose? and if so, why have so many cat and dog variations? or are our animals reflections of ourselves? and if that's the case, are all the other's split between two personality groups?" haking his head in lue of blinking he paused, only just realizing that he had yet to introduce himself. instead he had simply launched into a questioning ramble of their animal halves. Which, if based on the way some of the others were dressed, many might not be comfortable with. oops. "so what's your name ms. great white?" he asked after a pause. "mine's james"

As his gaze fluttered away from hers, she too looked towards the growing mass of 'mutants' and scientists. As he chatted away, she took notes of the various points he made. All of them were plausible questions, but Jin herself believed that the animals were erelfections of their personalities. Like a shark, she was almost completely quiet. But at times, she could have her anger attacks, which were difficult to control. For this reason, she was never angry at the scientists for what they did. She couldn't risk being angry at them, so she always told herself that they had good reasons for their actions. Her gaze flicked back to him as he spoke his name, and with a nod she noted it. "Jin." She responded, a smile tweaking up the edges of her lips for once.

Kaley noticed another, well, she didn't really know what they were called, -monster- enter the room, crouching into the corner to hide. The girl had tried to hide like a cat, which was clearly her animal base off her appearance. More mutants -monsters- kept entering the room, as well as more scientists. She scoffed, rolling her blu-ish green eyes with disgust. The color brown now rimmed her eyes, though it hadn't before. Brown was the color of wolf eyes, and it seemed as if her wolf DNA was slowly starting to take over. Kaley could feel it on the inside; the wolf eating away at the only humanity left inside her. It wasn't just the animal tearing apart her old self, it was the government as well. The government had turned her into this animal, this new self that she called a monster. Kaley didn't even exist anymore. On the inside she was different, as if her characteristics were just a mask to cover up whats inside. Her new features, of which some scientists called beautiful, just hid the war torn body that existed but was never seen. Scars and wounds had ripped the only pieces of humanity that was left, and all she knew is that she had to fight to regain whatever she had left. Kaley didn't know what for, or if it was just the wolf characteristics rising up, but she knew she had to fight. With her eyes full of hate, she glared at the scientists as they counted the mutants like they were animals in a pen, or children that couldn't care for themselves. At this feeling, this feel of hatred, Kaley felt the urge to use her powers to do something. It was strange to Kaley that the scientists had given them powers when the mutants -monsters- could easily rebel. Though she was smart enough to know she shouldn't act suddenly. She would wait until they weren't suspecting a thing. For now she just kept to the side, waiting and watching like a wolf stalking prey. ✖✖✖✖✖✖ αℓєχ | ♂ | 15 ½ | ωнιтє тιgєя ✖✖✖✖✖✖
Alex was disappointed when the Head Scientist continued unfazed by Alex's acts to try and mess with her. Instead, he felt even more joy as another scientist came running into the room. She was younger, around his age and seemed quite discombobulated which was the perfect kind of person to mess with. Alex once again showed off his large tiger teeth that lined his mouth. In most cases, these features were only shown to fight battles and to scare off opponents, but Alex smiled more than he growled and now his teeth were friendlier rather than scary. His brown eyes studied the girl who had walked in. She was normal. Alex hadn't seen normal for a while, or anyone for that matter. He had only gotten used to the other mutants he lived with, and other older scientists that did tests on him. The older scientists weren't as much fun to look at. His coat color wavered for a quick moment, his skin color turning from a pale white to a grey to take the color of the walls surrounding the room, but it then resumed to it's normal color of white with a pattern of stripes. Sheepishly, he continued to grin like his old flirtatious self had always done. "I don't know about you, but in my orphanages the ladies always taught us to introduce ourselves," he said with a mocking tone. "I'm Alex."

"There's eight now, I think, miss." Summer continued, before she heard a voice from beside her. One of the 'mutants' had approached her - a white tiger - and was making an attempt at introducing himself. He had done a good job too, since she gave an apologetic glance to Christin before she turned to the man standing beside her. "I'm Summer." She said, with a nod and a warm smile. She knew some of the scientists didn't treat the hybrids as if they were humans, but she wanted to be different. She would rather befriend them than treat them like aliens or beasts. But there was also the fact that she didn't exactly know how to handle herself around them. Would they be angry at her for something that the other scientists had done? She didn't want to set them off. "Your a white tiger, yeah?" She asked, opening conversation the best she could.

James || 18 || Bothrops Asper || tagged;; JinLips twitching upwards, James returned her grin, his own snakelike teeth just visible enough to determine that they weren't human. "Well then nice to meet you Jin." he stated, hints of playfulness woven through his voice. He was actually starting to enjoy talking to the quiet shark girl. For the past few months, the only ones he had talked to had been the scientists. And although he could get a reaction out of them from time to time, they were silent, clinical, and overwhelming demanding most of the time. It was as if they viewed him as a dimwitted animal rather than the intelligent human he was. And for that, he had vowed long ago that he would eventually make them pay. But for right now, it was in his best interests to play nice with them. Later, after he had made friends with some of the others like him, would he risk trying to strike back against them. Maybe. For now though, he would just enjoy the moment. "And I have to say that your find are looking particularly sharky today. What's your secret? Perhaps it will give me finds like yours. What do you think?"

As he talked of it being nice to meet her, she nodded in agreement. It was better to have someone actually take an intrest in you and try to become friends rather than the people who mutated you. But she could only imagine what was going through his mind at that moment. Could he be judging her? Thinking she was too quiet? Or maybe he was thinking about who else he could talk to? Or perhaps he wasn't thinking about her at all, which was good and bad in its own ways. As he made another statement she simply shrugged, not entirely sure what to say. It was something that she felt required a long explanation, and she would rather not draw out an entire response. But she didn't want him to leave. She racked her brain for something to say, but nothing came to mind. She just couldn't do it. She was never able to.

Alex nodded, his hood sliding off his forehead and back down onto his shoulders and back. His face was exposed completely now; pale white skin with unique designs placed intriguingly across his face. He didn't both to fix it. The room was filled with mutants, so now he wasn't the strange one that stood out. Now, the scientists stood out because they were out numbered by mutants, so they looked funny in the crowd of strange animal-like humans. "Yep, white tiger. You?" he asked jokingly.
