**Spoilers ahead, for those of you who aren't quite caught up**

Based on the multiple articles I've read about the upcoming season, it looks like it's going to be a team effort between the Charmings, Hook and Regina (obviously) to "save her", although the Apprentice explained the Sorcerer's history with the darkness in the season finale: that he battled the darkness and tethered it to a human soul, and thus the Dark One and the dagger were born. As he is the only means to contain the darkness, the Apprentice suggests that Emma seek out Merlin, or the Sorcerer.

Regardless of who frees her from the darkness, there's obviously going to be someone who can free her from the burden of the dagger. Based on what the Apprentice said, I believe that Merlin will be the one who "saves" Emma. But, I could be wrong. It just...it makes the most sense to me that Merlin should be the one to free Emma, as he is the one who first grappled with the darkness and figured out a way to contain it.

Yeah it probably will be Merlin. I really want to know who the sorcerer is though! We haven't found that out yet, right?
