Flightpaw stared in wonder at the spot where the 'StarClan' cat had stood mere heartbeats ago. She mistook the feeling that slowly began to fill her as StarClan purifying her, when in fact it was the darkness that Firepelt had planted in her spreading and taking control. FLightpaw sat down and laid her tail over her paws, letting a ray of flickering sun cleanse her with its bright light. She suddenly felt the weight drop onto her and she gasped. "IT's up to me," she meowed in realisation. "I have to save the clan by myself." She staggered out of the hollow, not sure where she was going. She collapsed under a bush, and curled up. Flightpaw had never felt this alone since the death of her parents. Slowly, sleep pulled her into it's warm arms...

Stallioncry coughed. He groaned and tried to get to his paws but soon gave up.

Redstar stared after Beartalon with a questioning look. He left the elders den and padded after the deputy. He needed to talk to him anyways. "Beartalon?" He asked, poking his head into the warriors den. "Are you okay?" He was still irritated from his cousin's death, but something was wrong with his deputy.
