I'm not flustered. I'm just too tired to have 'discussion' on what terms mean and what they don't.
For me atheist means a certain thing, much like it does to other atheists that share my opinions.
I'm rather narrow-minded when it comes to this, and a internet discussion will not change my
opinion about it, thus it is useless and tiresome.

I'm sorry if you got your debate discussion groove on or something, and I've dissappointed you.
But I'm just not up for this, seeing as neither I, or you most probably, will again anything from
doing this.

Fine with me; I'm sorry your feel that way, but whatever floats your boat. :]

A black rainbowist, I guess? xD Whatever you want to be, really, depending on what your beliefs consist of.

I'm like that, I created my own gods and beliefs, and I categorize myself as polytheistic. :3
It's basically just what main category your beliefs fall under, if they have many similarities to other religions.

Comanche wrote:Moreso that atheism has nothing to do with religion or the lack thereof? There are atheistic religions - it's a western thing to think of religion as having to have a higher power associated with it. There are several schools of Buddhism, for example, which are atheistic, but still have doctrine and practice, which is what makes a religion, not a belief or disbelief in insert deity of choice here. All atheism means is the non-belief in god or gods (a (not) theism (believing in god(s)), and unless someone specifies that they are a non-religious atheist, their religion is or lack there-of is still up for grabs. Similarly, you can be be non-religious theist or deist, just as you can be a religious atheist.

Yay! Someone else who gets what "atheism" really means! I remember I once got into it with someone from my school's atheist club when I mentioned something about an atheistic religion. As highly amusing as it was, it's kinda shocking when you find people identifying as an atheist and saying that it's the same thing as not having a religion.

That'd be like me saying polytheism means believing in the Nordic gods, when that's really only one form of polytheism.

If you are a Buddhist, you are also athiest, because of the lack of gods or deities.

My friend and I were just debating that, but I don't think it's true. Buddhism isn't quite atheistic, because they still believe in reincarnation - life after death. But Atheists don't believe in anything after life...so...I don't think we can say that if you're a Buddhist, you're an atheist.

Nope. I know several athiests who believe in reincarnation.
Also: Buddhists DON'T believe in reincarnation. They believe in rebirth, which is a completely different thing altogethor.

Athiesm is just not believing in a god of any kind. Buddhism has no gods, so I'm sure you can say you are also athiest. Athiesm is a very broad term really, you can believe in almost anything as long as there are no deities involved.
