Tia slowed slightly as they approached the road, ready to leapt over onto the safety of the sand. With a bit of luck the humans would slow too, as Tia had never seen them dart between cars before. They seemed to wait for something, then cross at the speed of a snail. Whipping her tail around her, she prepared to run.

Jude stayed close to Tia. "I think we should cross now while there are no cars." she said to the group. She looked behind herself to check and see if there were any humans coming at them. Without thinking, Jude bolted across the road and fell into some sand on the other side, her heart pounding in her chest. She never really liked crossing.. Cars were terrifying.. and the sound it makes when it hits something is something you will never forget.

Blake darted between the cars after Tia and Jude, ears tucked and head down, charging blindly and hoping to reach the other side. Apparently it worked, as he opened his eyes on the other side and just about collapsed, he was shaking so hard. Blake wasn't used to being this terrified, not only for himself, but for his friends.

The sand felt warm between his paws, but grainy, annoying. On any other day he'd be happily frolicing here, but not now. There were more important matters at hand.

Breed - Australian Cattle Dog
Personality- Summer is a easy-going dog who can get along with just about everyone. Like her breed, she prefers to stand alone and is very independant. Loyalty and Trust are the main two things she values in beliefs. Keeping secrets is against that and Summer hates it when other dogs keep them from her, good or bad. When and if she gains friends she is fericely loyal and sometimes over protective. She will sacrifice herself for them but only friends and family. If it is just an ordinary dog it depends on what she thinks of them. She does what she believes in and it isn't always a good thing.

Killer has a rather severe case of split personality, but wait, there's more, Killer isn't the brightest crayon in the tool shed if you get my drift. See what I did there?! Intellegent breed with a dumb personality. ;D Haha, silly wits of mine. Killer tends to snap out and then proceeds to run in circles after his tail, always yelling insults and crude come-backs to an unknown insult. But, aside from the awful name, rabid looking snarl, and half insane mind, Killer is a sweetie. He loves other dogs and tends to act like a puppy around them, spinning in circles with his tongue lolling out of his mouth, and the occasional excited bark escaping his throat.

Killer has a scar over the top of his tongue which, he says, comes from his days as a pup with his abusive master. From that same master came the scars that circle Killer's neck from a rather small collar that began to embed itself in Killer's skin, luckily, the dog found a helper once he ran off to get it out before it did any serious damage.

Character's Name- Sloan, which means "a fighter"
Age- 5 years
Breed[Can be purebred or mixed]-Akbash mix
Personality [Please be thorough]- Sloan is a soft-spoken dog that has good intentions, and has a big heart. His huge size may make him seem slightly aggressive, but he is a gentle giant. He gets along well with others. Sloan has an intense hate for humans, though he hasn't had many encounters with them. He avoids them at all costs. Being a relatively independent yet friendly dog, Sloan doesn't really travel with a core group. He is brave, though, and would possibly put his life on the line to protect a dog he may not know well.

Appearence[What the picture doesn't show, ie. Height, scars]- Sloan is a large dog, about 28-31 inches. He weighs about 150 pounds. He has a few small scars from fights and accidents from younger days. he has one large, jagged scar over his neck from a nasty encounter with a angry dog.

Please just bear with Baron, he's kind of an idiot. x3))

The Shepherd's dark eyes darted around. Sheep, he had to find sheep.
He hated this...this blind fear that coursed through him. It wasn't a feeling he knew, nor one he'd ever get used to. He had to get home, back to the flock left weak and unprotected from the dangers that awaited them. He had already lost enough time, first in the hands of a human family, then behind the bars of the cage. The sooner he returned to his family, the better.
But there weren't any sheep here. Just bright lights and loud sounds that stung his ears. The ground felt rough and unnatural beneath his paws, and he longed for the soft grass of his home in the field. People were rushing past, more than he had ever seen in his short life. They were everywhere, rushing about, pushing him aside, and sitting in strange shining machines. Machines that yelled and made growling noises when they moved. Things that normally he would chase away and attack, but what was there to defend?

He shook his head, trying to drive the thoughts from his mind. This was all too much, too overwhelming for the dog that spent his entire life among sheep. He wasn't meant to be there. Despite his size, he couldn't help but feel like a tiny helpless puppy.

So he started running, deciding that he'd run back home to the farm. He had no way way of knowing just how far from home he truly was. He just knew that he wanted to be there.
His journey was quickly cut short, skidding to a stop as he suddenly approached a group of dogs. Once again panic surged through his body. A pack. He thought, his fur bristling. The thought that he no longer had a flock to protect didn't occur to him, the sight of the other strays instinctively frightened him. He could take a coyote easily, one dog was a fair fight, but a pack... well, he was lucky they usually ran off when they realized it wasn't a free meal.
Then he realized they were running, only pausing a second to wait for the machines to slow. Confused by this and now almost curious, he bolted after them, narrowly avoiding a collision with one. They were like cows, he thought. He always knew there was a reason he preferred guarding sheep.

"Who are you? What is this place?" He asked frantically, turning to the first dog he could find. His voice sounding like a low growl, quickly forming into a whimper, his fear forgotten. "...And what is this stuff?" he snarled, shaking the small rocks from between his paws.

Tia's heart skipped a little, watching the cars. Her whole body was tense and tight- waiting in fearful anticipation of the charge ahead of them. Casting her eyes wildly over the beach so near, yet so far from them, she briefly found the figure of another dog. She kept her mouth shut, though. No-one needed any distractions right now. Instinctively, she propelled herself forwards like a brindle bullet as their small group crossed the road, landing on the other side in a crazed skid. Never before had sand felt so good.

Pushing away the fleeting moment of appeasement, Tia set about gaining back her breath, almost whimpering with relief when she found her friends on the beach with her. Her focus waned, then sharpened almost as suddenly as it had left her as a larger dog approached, seeming frantic. At his wild questions, Tia could not just turn and run, nomatter how much the threat of humans was growing by the moment. She stood for a minute, then launched into answering him as quickly and as unthreateningly as she could manage in her fear. "I'm Tia, these are my friends. This is the city, and it's not safe here right now- we need to run, humans are coming for us and they'll be here soon." She blurted as calmly as she could, so as not to alarm the stranger any further.

Blake looked around quickly, making sure they'd all made it across the road in one piece. He was still shaking slightly, shock and fear constricting his throat, causing his breaths to become shallow and fast. Blake gulped, sides heaving with the effort of trying to breathe normally again. The rocks weren't too far now, but could they all make it? Even then, would they have enough strength to climb the rocks? How long would they have to hide out in there? All the questions whizzed through Blake's head so fast he didn't have a chance to even consider an answer, but he knew if he did then he would begin to doubt the plan. He couldn't afford to share his feelings with the others; they'd only panic. No, he had to be strong. They needed a leader, which Blake was fairly sure was the position he'd unknowingly been voted into.

As the other dog approached, he stepped up closer to Tia, trying to seem controlled, like someone he could trust. Blake nodded at Tia's words; if they left the newcomer, he'd surely be captured. He seemed new to the city, and slightly bewildered at the new surroundings. Blake knew how he felt, it was the same for him when his owners first brought him home. All cold, unnatural pavement, harsh looking people, and tall, imposing buildings. The city was intimidating to any dog, no matter their size.

Jude shut her eyes and tried to remain calm, the last thing she needed to do was upset the stranger. Her ears moved back and forth as she listened to for the others behind them, Oh I hope we can make it past those rocks.. she worried in her head. The ocean breeze blew towards them, pushing itself into Judes pelt, she shivered and looked at the others.
