Drakkon grinned as she dove under, laughing slightly. As she came up, he flashed her a grin, right before a wave swept him off his long legs and he went under with a little yelp, resurfacing in just a moment.

Jenna smirked as another wave swept Drakkon off his feet. "That's what you g--" she began, but was interrupted by yet another wave washing over her head. This was unusual or the lake, it was usually calm. "Ok, what the heck--" Another wave came. "--is causing all these--" She went under yet again. "--WAVES?"

Jonathan thought he heard the guy behind him nearly growl, though it was probably something to do with work or personal problems, so he ignored it until he felt himself being tossed to the side of the sidewalk as a car sped through the recently-green light in quite a rush to get wherever its driver was going. "Ah, thank you for the rescue then," he thanked the man, raising a brow and getting up, rubbing his wrist and dusting off his pants. "Are you alright though? That car nearly hit you as well."

"I *cough cough splutter* I have no clue!" Drakkon said, scrambling out of the normally calm water and shaking his now cool coat out, panting slighly.

"No trouble. I'm fine." he wouldn't say anything about the bruise he felt forming on his leg, sighing slightly as he flexed his wrist. "Got out of the way in time. Honestly, that guy shouldn't be driving, though." Kouga then turned to continue on his way, finishing crossing the street.

Raising a brow, Jon nodded and followed him the rest of the way across the street. "Will you at least let me treat you to lunch for essentially saving my life?" he offered, wondering if the other would accept or not. It was the least he could do for the person who pushed him out of the way of the car, and was clipped himself by it.

"Sure, if you want." Kouga said, shrugging. "What's your name?" he asked curiously, nonchalantly.

Nodding, he gestured down the sidewalk and replied, "I'm Jonathan, but you can call me Jon. And the place I'm going is about two more blocks down." He walked beside the other idly, glancing to his face as he asked the same: "And you, what is your name?"

"I'm Kouga. And don't even compare me to that stupid wolf demon from Inuyasha, I hate that show..." he said, trying to make a joke. "Sounds good to me. I was just heading to the library to surf the Web." he shrugged.

Jenna paddled towards the edge of the lake, scrambling onto the sand. "Ouch!" she hissed, as the sand burned her paws, squinting out onto the lake for any sign of unusual activity.

Drakkon stood in the shallows, to take some of the sting out of the heat of the sand, and raised his head to sniff the air and look up at the sky, wondering what had happened to the usually calm body of water.
