technically, their reasons for fearing the bodies are different, with dumbledore's reason being more noble that tom's.

minor spoilers for half-blood prince/deathly hallows!

dumbledore fears seeing the body of ariana, his younger sister, because he feels guilty for her death. it is stated in the text, ariana was disabled, and she looked up to albus after their father died, even though aberforth (might have spelled it wrong) took care of her. when the fight between dumbledore, grindlewald, and aberforth (i haven't read the books in awhile, correct me if he wasn't in it, but i think he was) occurred, someone killed their younger sister, but no one knew who it was. dumbledore always felt guilty because he believed it was him that had used the final spell.
voldemort, however, only cared for his own carcass.
