- it's (3 am) opinion hour!
or, well, however long it takes for everyone to speak their mind
here's how it works:
1. everyone states in one post their opinion on something bit (for example, mine is going to be why i don't think romione/harmony wouldn't work)
2. no retaliating to anything anyone says. if someone's opinion annoys you, keep it to yourself. it is their opinion and you are not allowed to attack them for it
again, one post, and no fighting with anyone on their opinion! not even over pm!
here's mine:
i don't ron/hermione or harry/hermione would work.
either pairing has never made sense to me, really. to me, they all would see each other as brother and sister. in one of the books, if i'm remembering correctly, molly weasley commented that harry and hermione were both members of the family- before mione got in a relationship with ron.
i just think that the three love each other, but hermione loves the boys in a brotherly way, and them a sisterly.
while it's honesty hour, even without what i wrote above, i don't think romione would work (and that dramione makes more sense)
ron is notably not as smart as hermione. hermione would enjoy having intelligent conversations, and, coincidentally, draco was just under hermione in everything school related...
i'm going to shamelessly use a few quotes from our queen to back up my statements:
“I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfillment,” she says. “That’s how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.”
“I know, I’m sorry,” she continued, “I can hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans, but if I’m absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that. It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility. Am I breaking people’s hearts by saying this? I hope not.”
Rowling also says that Ron and Hermione would have needed “relationship counseling.”
"I considered for a long time a romance between Hermione and Draco. They're both strong-minded people and Hermione could have helped pull Draco towards the light - been his saving grace - much like Lily was to Snape. However, in the end, I thought it was too much of a plot twist and decided that Ron was her best match." -J.K. Rowling
