All of the lions look great. The horns are all cool and the markings and colors are all lovely. Congrats Vampire and Chouhesi.

I am very pleased with his horn and coloration. You did a great job and I am very happy that I chose to keep him instead of letting him go. I think he and the custom I plan on eventually ordering might make a lovely couple.


I have a question though. Are the lions always males? I tried to look up all the older ones but I don't remember seeing a female, though I don't think I found them all.

All lions are males and they are always a bay dun, a grullo and a red dun. And they always have the "same" personality when they appear. The black one is always rough and a bit impatient, gold tends to behave proud and noble but respectful as well and red is always a bit careful and friendly.
I hope it's ok for the owners if I list them here. Slap me with a big salmon, if not.

And of course I don't mind you displaying Marbles. He's an arrogant toe-rag and loves the attention.

Isabela neatly slid off the chocolate coated stallions back and gently patted his neck.

"That's my good boy Helios. Stay here and keep hidden okay?" The dark haired woman spoke softly to her beloved Narakari as he bobbed his head in reply, causing her to smile.

She pulled up both her hood and carefully adjusting the attached mask so the gap between it and the hood left only her eyes exposed. Creeping forward the elven woman made sure to stay as silent as possible all while making her way across the property toward her destination. She vaulted the fence in one bound and quickly snuck her way over to the other side where she hopped up and over the second fence. All while quietly humming to her herself.

The red eyed woman straightened up once she reached the gate, a smile creeping across her face under the mask as she pulled the padlock from her bag.

"Nothing personal, I just need you to slow down for a little while" Isabella breathed and hooked the chain round the bar next to the wall and then around the gate itself. With a click she neatly shut the padlock and looked around for a place to hide the key. It took the elf a few moments to find somewhere good enough that was in plain sight yet not easily thought of as a somewhere to keep a small item hidden. The elf neatly tucked the key under a small stone near the wall. No doubt the key would be found eventually and the elven woman was going to leave a clue as to where the key would be, if a bit of a vague one.

Her smile widened as she fished in her pocket for a pen and the small piece of paper she brought along just for this occasion. Pulling them she quickly began to scribble the words down.

"Yo.
I've locked this gate and hidden the key needed to open it. The key is very nearby so don't worry too much about this little trick of mine. My intention was just to slow your progress for a little while, so this is the only thing you'll find wrong that I did.
From, she wolf"

Grinning now, Isabela darted back to the gate and tucked the note under the chain. With a gleeful giggle she sprinted back the way she had come. Hopping over the fences and skidding to halt next to Helios who nudged her in search of treats. Pulling her mask and hood down, Isabela laughed gleefully and scrambled up onto his back. Taking hold of the reins, the dark haired woman turned her trusty mount around and gave him a squeeze with her legs. By the light of the moon the two made their way back home.

She yawned softly and lead the chocolate stallion back to his stall. Isabela gave him a quick but thorough brush and then exited the stable, shutting the door behind her. Exiting the barn she made her way up to the house and let herself in.

"Been up to mischief, love?" Asked a rough voice causing the elf to jump and spin around hand clutched over her now racing heart.

"Damnit Farkas. When the hell did you get so sneaky?" She question her husband who merely smirked at her in return. She wrinkled her nose and stuck her tongue out at him. The tall man gently grabbed his wife's slender hand and led her upstairs.

This years lions look fantastic. I wanted to smoothly snag some slots but I was either too late or offline. xD

Cavy, your Day X design is really sweet. The tone of blue is matching the rest so nicely... I really thought about buying that one but someone was faster. :p The Grullos are worth a mention too though, nice work. ^^ Also, Yama, don't make me search my salmon. I really don't know where I put that thing... other than that, it's totally fine posting them. Blackheart is just a little shy. c:

I'm kind of sorry for always randomly coming and going but I still love my Naras just like day one. x) The event this year is so cool! I follow the entries every time and the wild Narakari all look great. I can only just imagine how much work it is to run this...

Thank you Yama. I think the only one I missed while looking for the lions before was the 2013 Black Lion. The rest I have seen but I didn't know all of them were lions.

I've included the personality stuff to my lion's profile, which I will post to my second archive once I've filled in more of his information and named him which I've included in my second archive and his name is Firvin.

And my lion is open for breeding, so if anyone is interested just let me know.

On a side note, I just realized that Soots has the same color horns as the lions this year.


And I agree that the Day X duns all look great. I'm not surprised that Cavy's design got snatched up so fast he has some lovely colors.

Feelings Between Soots and Teese
Over the weeks Teese and Soots have grown closer and closer. Nicolai was surprised at how quickly the two have been bonding with each other. Teese isn't surprised though. She knew right from the beginning that she and Soots would be best friends. She had felt a connection the moment she first laid her eyes on him. He was scared and needed a quiet, patient companion to help him settle into his new home. Soots is a creative and intelligent soul and it was easy for Teese to connect with that. Soots could have bonded with either of the brothers as well if it weren't for Teeze's overabundance of hyper enthusiasm and Nicolai's tendency to guard himself from intimate relationships with anyone but his siblings. Soots just feels more comfortable around Teese. She is gentle and easy going. She doesn't push her new friend faster than he is willing to go and she always puts an emphasis on tending to whatever Soots needs. Ever since the two cemented their bond, Soots in turn has taken to keeping an eye on Teese whenever she is out on the ranch. He'll follow her around and protect her from all of the dangerous animals that stalk her, like the chickens who come after her when she has a pail of seeds. Whenever she goes to feed the pigs Soots will pace around anxiously until she is once again at a safe distance. He just can't seem to understand why anyone would willingly go near those evil creatures.



The Cementing of the Relationship
One morning Soots and the rest of the Narakari were grazing at the far end of the meadow as the siblings worked on upgrading the fencing in that area of the ranch. It could have been said to have been a quiet day but the truth was that is was the kind of day in which every sound made traveled far and clear and then blends together before entering the ear as "nature sounds," unnoticeable until you actually stop and listen to them. As Teese made her way back toward the truck to get some more materials the only distinctive sound was those that the guys were making as they toiled away behind her. The pleasantness of the morning only seemed to emphasize the pain-filled scream that cut through the summer air. All eyes turned to Teese as a deafening silence fell over the ranch, and for a moment there wasn't even the sound of the wind in the grass. Then just as everyone was beginning to process what had happened, a horrible snarl broke the silence.
Cougar!
The brothers dropped what they were doing and the Narakari scattered. Then Teese let out another scream as the big cat adjusted his hold on her. Soots was suddenly overcome with a very different emotion than what had gripped him a moment earlier. Even though both his body and his head wanted to flee his heart was telling him in a quiet but determined voice to do the opposite. In an instant he spun around and charged the attacker of the girl he only just realized that he loved. He reached the two in no time at all and dug his teeth into the surprised animal in order to rip him off Teese. Soots then proceeded to stomp and bite at the cougar, driving him back toward the woods with a burning rage that could only come from a creature from Hell.
Teeze and Nicolai rushed to tend to their injured sister. It wasn't long before Soots reappeared from the trees, covered in blood and claw marks. He moved along the ground in a hurried manner but he held himself with the confidence and pride of a might victor. He slowed as he reached the three humans and lowered his head to nuzzle Teese's cheek, being careful not to disturb any of her wounds. Teese sat dazed and in agony. She didn't stop staring into space when Soots' soft lips kissed her face, but she raised a shaking hand up to give him a "thank you" pet as her brothers worked to control the bleeding until help arrived a short while later.

My Personal Feelings About Soots
Soots would be my first Narakari that I feel really fits Teese. I had originally paired them together because I thought they would look good together, but now that I have discovered more about Soots' personality through these tasks and have seen how the relationship between the two has developed I feel that there is a much more significant connection between Teese and Soots. Not only do the look adorable together but Teese is also my persona who represents my gentler, more feminine side and the personality for Soots along with the relationship that the two now have reflect my desire to have someone in my life that I can truly count on no matter what situation I find myself in.

About the Pictures

For the first picture, Soots and the Neon Sunset, I wanted to play with the colors and make it rather different so Soots is a much brighter color in that one. I'm not very happy with the way Soots turned out and I really dislike the horizon but the sky turned out nice and I think I may do skies like this again in the future.

With the second picture, which takes place after the cougar attack, I also wanted to play with colors. Teese is pastel themed; I dress her in light colors and stuff like that. Because of that I wanted it keep the colors lighter. I also wanted to keep it simple so I left the markings and details out. I wanted to mostly focus on the wounds that brought them together and I also emphasized a couple of key features such as Soots horns and Teese's hair. When I got done I decided it was too simplified so I added some texture.
I also tried to get Teese's actual height compared to Soots; this is actually my height too.
