Full Name: Felipe Juan Carlos Arquilla
Name: Felipe
Nicknames: Felipe
Age: 19
Gender: Male
What Barn Do You Ride At: Red Dawn Stables
Appearance: Felipe is six foot with naturally tan skin and dark, curly hair. He has warm, brown eyes and a lean build with muscles toned from years of riding. He has a white scar running across the palm of his left hand and another one cutting diagonally across his abdomen. Felipe's expression is almost always serious or a polite smile, though he does have flashes of excitement and humor. His posture is almost too straight, too stiff, too formal, though he wouldn't really be himself if he was slouching. Felipe is almost always in riding pants or jeans and his tall boots with a polo shirt, unless he is playing soccer/football or swimming.
Personality:
History: Felipe grew up in Spain with his parents and older brother, always hanging out at the dressage college where his parents worked. While he was rock climbing with his father and brother, faulty cables sent his brother falling. After the funeral his parents split and he got dragged to America with his mother. Once he was older, Felipe returned to Spain to go to the college where his parents used to work. He suffered through schooling, his dad no longer the same man he used to be. Because of the constant reminders and comparisons to his brother, Felipe left for Red Dawn Stables as soon as he graduated, not wanting to stay there any longer. Despite being back in America, he didn't contact his mother.
Family: His mother in America, father in Spain, and a deceased older brother.
Any Major Wins: Felipe was the head of his graduating class and valedictorian, coming in first at the big end of the year show hosted by his school. He has won other shows, but he prefers training horses and coaching students to competing.
Their Disciplines/ What they compete in: Dressage and 3 day eventing.
Show Name: Última Luz de la Mañana (Tomorrow's Last Light)
Barn Name: Luz (Light)
Breed: Akhal-Teke
Age: Six
Gender: Stallion
Appearance: Luz is a perlino, his skin a beautiful shade of soft gold. He has the metallic sheen his breed is known for, made more distinct because of his light color. Luz's eyes are a light blue and are lined with long, blond lashes. He has no face markings but four socks, a clean white color. His mane is rather sparse and he has almost no forelock, but his tail is long and thick. Luz's conformation is borderline perfect; long legs, athletic frame, arching neck, and well shaped face.
Their Disciplines/ What they compete in: Dressage and 3 day eventing, so show jumping and cross country as well as the dressage, but dressage is his specialty.
Short Personality/Quirks: Luz isn't quiet. He will nicker fairly often and lets out a neigh or two, especially if there are mares nearby or in the sidelines. He also has to be held back more by Felipe, always wanting to go faster.
Worst Fear/ what they spook at: Gunshots and loud whistles. He is fine with a softer, melodic whistles and does come when he hears Felipe whistle, but he spooks at the loud, metal ones.
How they react to owner: Luz adores Felipe and is constantly paying him attention, mostly by nibbling on his hair and mouthing his shirt. He responds well to groundwork and will playfully prance up to Felipe, extending his face for a head hug.
Favorite treat: Almonds
Bred before: Luz has not been bred, but he is registered for when he is older.
Short History: Luz was bought by Felipe when he was eight months old. Felipe raised him with at least an hour of groundwork every day and more bonding time on top of that. He started under saddle at the age of four and a half, a cautionary so no damage would be done to his still growing joints. Felipe then started riding him in dressage and later extended to showjumping and cross country, riding Luz everyday and continuing to work with the growing stallion. Luz followed Felipe on every move and is fine with travel, just so long as it's Felipe that does the unloading and loading.
