I don't list coats with Silver unless there's a specific coat name for it, for example "Taffy". That one could be anything and it doesn't give away what the actual coat is. But there's no need to add Silver Bay since it says exactly what it is and Bay is in the list and Silver is further down below. I can add Silver to the coats, but that'd make a really long list when all you have to do with a coat with Silver is to add that one gene. However, if there are more of these "odd" coat names like Taffy that I havent' added I'd love for you to list them or PM me a list so I can add them. This list is far from done and so far I've just done the ones I could think of so there will obviously be coat names missing.
And thank you for noticing Smokey Grullo, Smokey Black and Smokey Cream. Will add them right away.
Listing them by base colour could be a good idea, but I thought listing in alphabetical order may make it easier for people to find the genotype they're looking for. I may just make another version of the list where the coats are listed under the correct base coat.

Nice list so far! I'm working on my own genetics guide, except it's oekaki/written.
A couple things to point out:
•There are many identified types of what you call 'Dominant White', more correctly known as White Spotting. I'm pretty sure there are at least 20, each from a different line. Some make all white horses, but there are marked differences in others, for example W15. Have a look at this little article on The Equine Tapestry to see what I'm going on about.
•There are more than one type of Sabino and Splashed White. My internet is having a hissy fit, but I'm sure you an find something with a quick search c:
•'PATN2' does not exist. Blanket patterns are thought to be polygenic, and PATN2 was an early theory that has now been disproven. Don't believe me? Check here
•I get why you added the shade terms in, but I find them unnecessary and a little cluttering to the list. Maybe try another section to keep things a little more organised?
Heyhey, Medicine Hat can be caused by a number of patterns. It is not a pattern on its own, rather the result of some genes deciding where to stick the color. It may be a result of Tobiano and Frame Overo. Blue Roan is a result of classic roan on top of black, so it's just E_/aa/R_
Sorry to steal your question, Sezzas! I figured I may as well help Heyhey out while asking a couple questions of my own <3

Thank you for your input and contribution to improving this list ^~^
- I am actually aware that there are different types of Sabino, Splashed White and Dominant White. But so far I haven't encountered an adoptable on here that actually tries to use those exact genes since it's pretty advanced, especially since there's not too much information on the different genes yet. I put the gene without the specific number to kinda "generalize". Even if I put different types most people would most likely not understand. But I understand why you'd want it as specific as possible.
- However, I did not know this "new" information on PATN2. I've researched on the site of The Appaloosa Project before and when I did that was thought to be a thing. I may have just not seen this new info or it didn't exist back then. Either way, I'm thankful for that information. I probably wouldn't have seen it myself for a while.
- That's actually a good idea. I mostly put them there since a lot of people don't know the "official names" or they are only aware of a really rare name for a coat. But putting them in a separate list sounds much neater and will still provide that information.
And that's fine, I don't mind, we're all here to learn. After all, you know more about this subject than I do, so I see nothing wrong with you stealing a question ^~^ Besides, I've never been good at explaining anyway.

iStarz wrote:In the case of a Double Cream or a Double Pearl, how would it be written?
Say in a Double Pearl Ivory Champagne
And in a Double Cream Cremello Overo
Since there is an Ivory Champagne and an Ivory Pearl in your list and then Cremello already has 2 cream genes so would it be a normal cremello??
I guess you could write that, yeah. To be honest if there's one thing I'm not that good at when it comes to horses, it's the pearl gene. But I think you'd usually write Double Pearl *insert coat name here*, just like you said.
Double Cream is usually obvious though.
Cremello is double cream, but you just call it a Cremello because if the horse only has one copy of Cream it becomes a palomino instead.
