"Nice to meet you both, as well. I like your name, too." Tia told Blake, shifting into a more comfortable position, with her long hindlegs stretched out to the side. Jude spoke, and Tia could see the pain course through her. She gave a low, sympathetic whimper. She certainly knew what that was like. "That must've been so hard..." She murmured to her, wondering what good person could treat a dog like a trophy machine. For her own answer, she turned and smiled at Jude, liking the friendly female's cheerfulness.

"It's complicated." She replied. In a sense that I myself don't exactly know. I was born into a prestigious showing programme, and I wasn't up to standard. I don't know anything after that, other than I woke up here on the beach- the tide was just coming in. If I hadn't have woken up, I might've drowned." The female shuddered at the clarity of the memory. "This is a far cry from anything I've ever been used to. I'm glad I've found you both, though." Tia added truthfully.

Blake nodded sympathetically, lowering his eyes. "I'm sorry, for both of you." He tried to imagine how anyone could do that to dogs, just cast them out because they didn't win enough. It was disgusting that all humans cared about was winning, being better than everyone else at everything. "My owners were... Okay, but they didn't understand me. They were too absorbed in their own lives to care about mine. The woman, she thought I'd make a pretty accessory to show around to her friends, I think. Because the only time I was walked was to meet up with other women like her. Their dogs were miserable, but I fought to be happy. Eventually, they tired of me and left me at the beach. I never bothered to go back." Blake realised how the last part must have made him sound; as if he didn't care. But he did. Just not enough to make him return. "I knew they wouldn't want me back." he finished.

Blake sighed, upset by the memories, but glad to have shared them with Tia and Jude. It lifted some of the weight off his shoulders, knowing that they were there, and would probably look out for him. "I too, am glad to have found you." Blake adressed both of them, touching noses with both in turn.

[Ollie.]

Jude gave a small smile, "The humans' not caring about us.. has brought us together, and I think that is the best thing that can happen to us." she said, wagging her curled hair at the two. "I'm very glad to have found both of you." Jude licked under Blakes cheek when he touched noses with her, thanking him for being so kind to her... and Tia.

Tia watched as Blake told his story, her brows knit together in a saddened frown. "That's terrible." She murmured, bitterness welling up inside her at the humans who had deserted her companions. She knew what it was like to be unloved, and it was a feeling she wouldn't wish upon her worst enemy. The fact that humans appeared to be blind to the fact that dogs too, had emotions, disgusted her. She didn't blame Blake for not returning to his owners.

"How long have you both been on the streets?" Tia asked as gently as she could, smiling as Blake touched noses with her and Jude. She nudged them both back, the sweetness of companionship lightening her spirit.

Jude looked up at a flock of birds flying above. "Two weeks." she told them, looking behind herself. "I stay in that alley over there because there's a place where humans eat food, and there's normally lots of leftovers in the trash." she rambled out, looking from both Blake and Tia

Blake smiled, "A while. You seem to lose track after a few weeks. The freedom, it gets to you. Like you don't need to know exactly how long you've been alone; it doesn't matter, because you're free." ((I so hope that made sense...)) Blake cocked his head to the side, thinking. "But I'd say about a month. Give or take a few weeks. I'm not sure." He shrugged. "How about you?" he asked, still smiling from the companionship. It felt good to have others there, to be able to talk freely.

Tia nodded at Jude's answer. It made sense to stay near a human food place, she noted. She turned to Blake. "Not long at all." She answered. "A few days, I guess. I've been on my feet since trying to place myself here. It feels almost surreal."She smiled wryly, wagging her tail softly against the pavement, listening to the muted swishing sound it made.

Inhaling deeply, the slim canine looked around. It was bordering on blissful that they could remain in one place and talk without the humans taking too much notice. Tia guessed the sight of strays here wasn't anything out of the ordinary.

Jude got to her feet, she looked at the other two. "Do you guys ever get an uneasy feeling that a human is going to come out of no where and grab you..?" she moved slightly closer to the other two, but still stood, feeling slightly uneasy as she looked around the alleyway.

Blake nodded, to Tia. As Jude moved closer, he immediately tensed, in anticipation of whatever had her spooked. At her words, he simply replied, "sometimes, but they don't generally try anything in the middle of the day, not with so many people around." Strays were just part of the scenery around here, and only got noticed if they did someting wrong, or made a loud noise. "Just... Try and blend in, they won't even look your way." He licked Judes muzzle reassuringly.

Tia shivered. She'd never had the experience of being chased before, and she hadn't seen these humans as much of a threat before, but now she could see the tension in Jude and Blake, she felt panic rise up in her chest. Gazing around, she knew she could definately outrun them on foot, but if they were in a vehicle, she wasn't so sure.

Blake seemed calm, however, so Tia trained her senses on him, hoping he would remain as cool as he was now, if a human were to approach them.
