(Okay! Flightpaw is young and innocent, so she doesn't know that Firepelt is lying! Can something happen to make her realise later so that she goes back to being good?)

Flightpaw gasped. "Great StarClan! Of course Flamestep!" She looked up at the 'StarClan' cat with determination in her eyes. "Wait... weren't you the deputy who was murdered... I-it was Redstar and Waspfur wasn't it! They killed you, so Redstar could be leader!" She'd heard a story when she was a kit about a cat who killed his kin to become leader, because she didn't remember the names she instantly assumed that the cat murdered must have been Flamestep.

Yeah, that's the plan. Don't know what we'll come up with, though. Guess we'll know when we get there)

Firepelt nodded his head slowly, making it seem that he was pained. He had, in fact, been killed by Redstar, but not in the way the apprentice thought. "My own son," he rasped, referring to Redstar, who was not actually his son. "Driven by ambition and anger. He paired up with my brother's son Waspfur. I was young; I didn't see what was coming and could not fight back. I was weak, weaker than I ever should have been," he meowed, his head dropping. Then he lifted his head and attempted to be strong. I really hope this she-cat is buying this, he thought.

Flightpaw looked horrified. She crept forward and touched her nose to his. "They'll pay for what they've done, I promise." Her face was cold and hard. "I'll avenge you. Waspfur will die." Her claws dug furrows in the hard ground. She needed to make it look like an accident. Deathberries she decided. I'll crush them onto some moss and take it to him.

Firepelt dipped his head to the apprentice. "Thank you, Flightpaw," he meowed sincerely. He didn't have to fake it, he really was thankful that she didn't ask more questions. Waspfur will finally be dead. He touched his nose to hers, then slowly faded away into nothingness.

Waspfur grumbled and padded back into the elders den, mumbling about some crazy elder-things. He felt the presence of his father fade and he sighed with relief. I must have imagined it, he thought, laying down in his nest.

Flightpaw turned to leave the clearing, but not without a last glance back at where the fiery tom had been. Anger boiled and bubbled in her like a volcano about to erupt. She found a ball of moss and soaked it in a nearby stream. It took her a few minutes to find deathberries, and, not realizing that one berry would be enough she picked four and took them back to the moss. She crushed them using the end of a stick and soaked the mossball in the juices. She prepared a second mossball. She carried both back to camp, careful not to mix them. She placed the good mossball just outside camp and took the poisonous one in. "Hi Waspfur, I thought you might be thirsty!" she chimed, forcing the words to sound happy. She held the mossball carefully as not to get any in her mouth.

Since there was four berries crushed, and Waspfur is an elder, the juices work much quicker in killing him)

Waspfur looked up at Flightpaw and smiled. "Why thank you, Flightpaw," he meowed and leaned forward. He thought that it smelled a little strange, but he shrugged it off. He lapped up some of the juices and immediatly gagged and pulled back. "Flightpaw!" He gasped, stumbling backward. He immediatly felt weak and crouched to the ground, shaking. He choked, rolling to the ground. His claws scrabbled against the earth. "Why?" He rasped quietly before his head slammed onto the rocks, his breath escaping him. His eyes dulled and his body went limp.

Flightpaw raced to the dirtplace and buried the poisoned mossball. She picked up the clean one and raced back in, dropping it on the ground. "Help!" she wailed. She crouched over his body and shook him gently. "Help!" She forced tears to come to her eyes and faked horror. "HELP!"

Redstar heard the commotion and raced over, fur on end. He saw the dead elder and choked. His only living kin. Dead. So much death. Tears brimmed his eyes. "Flightpaw what happened?" He rasped, not taking his eyes off of his dead cousin. The tom looked as if he had not died peacefully, as Redstar had hoped he would. Something caused him to die. Firepelt! He knew the tom had to be behind this somehow.

Flightpaw made her fur bristle and made her eyes wide with fear and horror. "I-I brought him water! I went to get him a mouse but there were none left so I was coming back to ask what he wanted and there-there was a red cat standing over him and-and he was dead!" She sobbed violently, crouching down and pressing her nose into the dead elder's fur. I hope he's buying this! "It's my fault! I should never have left to get him the mouse!"

Beartalon nodded, pushing himself closer to Stallioncry. "Firepelt! I hope buying he's buying this...!" The whispers, now more like yowls, slammed his head around the same time yelling erupted from the elders den. Jumping up, he mewed frantically, "Something very, very bad is happening," and ran out of the den. The large tom didn't know that for sure, but something felt wrong. Pushing into the elders' den, he asked, "What's going on?"
