Personality traits: Uptight, perfectionist, strong sense of right and wrong, patient with those who are learning, critical of those who are supposed to know better, always striving for improvement, organized, ambitious, realistic, at times moody and irrational, sticks to her guns, has high standards for herself and others, somewhat arrogant, often represses her emotions to come off as controlled and stable, greatest fear is of being "defective" or "evil." Despite Nova's perfectionist and ethically conscious nature, she does not care much for rules. She only follows rules that align with her own moral code, and anything else is just getting in the way of progress.

Nova's powers sometimes manifest in strange ways. While she rarely looses control of her abilities, they will sometimes react depending on her emotions. For example, when she's meditating or sleeping she tends to float. When using her light abilities her eyes tend to glow. When emotional, she may emit soft light that changes color depending on how she's feeling. She tries her best to keep this under control. Nova often uses her flight ability to give herself super-human agility so she can scale walls and jump over things no normal person should be able to. To her it feels much more controlled and she rarely uses her ability to fly outright. Nova can perform a variety of "magic tricks" with her light powers and will sometimes put on light shows for the kids. She also uses it just for practical purposes. While she rarely has cause to use it, she can emit blinding amounts of light or concentrate light so densely that it forms a solid. She can turn this into platform or bridges, small forcefields, and weapons capable of cutting through most materials. She can also block light from reaching places, something she can use to stealth. She can also prevent light from hitting a person's eyes, effectively rendering them temporarily blind.
Weaknesses: Nova's flight abilities, while not as strenuous as running, do use up energy and she can't use them if she's too tired. Using her light abilities also drains energy. Small, low level tricks don't use up hardly anything, but creating large objects out of light or creating large amounts of light can be very draining. The more powerful an attack, the more drained she will be after using it.

Love life: Nova is a lesbian, but even being surrounded by other girls all the time hasn't done much for her love life. She has very high standards when it comes to her lovers, so she doesn't date much for fear that the person she likes won't live up to her expectations and she will be let down.
