Well its implied the kid is in a hospital bed so he would have been alive when he was in the pizzeria. And then died later in the hospital. The phone guy probably would have only seen him in the actual pizzeria.

I think he was referring more to how long the kid lived after the incident occured, considering the severe brain/head damage, emotional trauma, and blood loss.

Yes, it is possible to live without a frontal lobe, but with the way the incident took place it was almost assuredly going to kill him regardless of what the hospital staff did.

I mean, a robot literally took a chomp at the kid's head; kids' skulls are still pretty soft and easily damaged, and the brain is no better. Even slight skull damage can cause serious, if not fatal, damage to the brain. And then take into account the massive amounts of blood lost, and you have a recipe for one kid on his death bed.

(And you can call them animatronics all you like, but the technical term of an animatronic is a stationary robot with limited movement in a set pattern. The Fazbear cast are not technically animatronics, since they're able to move around freely and do not have true set patterns of movement.)

It says "Since 1983," which could mean that Freddy's has just been running since '83. Lots of companies and places do that, especially restaurant chains. TV shows also often have reruns, so it could just be a re-run of the show from 1983.

Also, you need to take into account that Phone Guy said survive without the frontal lobe. There was no live. Survive is very different than live. You could say someone survived a shark attack, but didn't live, as they died three hours later in the hospital. True, a lot of people say they are "survivors" of various things and continue to live, but that doesn't mean every survivor lived.

Don't forget that Fredbear chomped down on the entire head. Phone Guy could just be implying that they removed the frontal lobe to reduce swelling from the injury (it's common for doctors to remove parts of the skull to reduce swelling and pressure, so I wouldn't doubt doing the same for the brain). Or, maybe the frontal lobe was too damaged to be saved, as is the case of many people without a frontal lobe.

And yeah, the 1983 on the TV means nothing. I don't even think it means that was when Fredbear's Family Diner was created, because of what Phone Guy says in FNaF1; "If I had to sing the same stupid songs for twenty years..." (Sorry, can't finish the quote because my computer isn't in the mood to load the wiki). If FNaF1 is truly set in 1993 (which the check at the end points to), then that means Fredbear's would've started in '73. But even still, Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy were created a few years after.

Ugh, but what do I know. This timeline is so confusing now.

personally dont support the idea of the game taking place in 1983 because its only evidence is an ad on a tv.

Ok, I have a theory on how the murders happened.
Basically, what most people seem to have so far is that there is a child and his older brother, and their father is purple guy. But I think there is another family member, a girl, as hinted by the steriotypical girls room in the house. I know the girl never appeared in the minigames herself, but I highly doubt that that's the brothers room, but it's kinda hard to explain.
So, the child we play as in game died in hospital, and his spirit possesed golden Freddy.
Purple guy wanted revenge for what had happened to his son, so at the other location, he lured his other son and friends to the back room, and killed them. Now here's where the daughter comes into the theory, as I believe she is the crying child. Why did he murder his daughter exactly? Simple. She saw the murders. She saw too much and he had to kill her.
That's basically what I have so far, I'm not sure if I should build on this theory or not.
